First Tuesday Volunteer Trail Team at D Ranch Preserve

Volunteers gather at Conservation Florida’s D Ranch Preserve for hands-on trail care that keeps paths safe, accessible, and inviting for visitors. Typical work includes widening sections of trail, trimming back overgrowth, clearing fallen branches and other debris, and walking the route to clip low hanging limbs. Tools are provided, and participants should bring gloves and a water bottle. Pack a lunch to enjoy after the work session. People with any level of experience take part, from seasoned land stewards to those simply looking to spend time outdoors and give back. Questions can be directed to Brandon@conservationfla.org.

Beautiful Loser

Beautiful Loser pays tribute to Bob Seger, celebrating a six decade legacy that includes more than 75 million records sold along with honors from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. After Seger announced his final tour in 2018, this group stepped in to keep his music alive on stage with a band of seven to ten seasoned players, including musicians who have toured with Jack Bruce, Todd Rundgren, and The Alan Parsons Project. The show is led by vocalist Ken Hurley, whose connection to Seger’s songs is at the heart of the performance. Raised in Kentucky, he began singing at age seven with guidance from his mother, a renowned Southern Gospel singer. A veteran of the South Florida music scene and of the Marines, he is known for a soulful voice that shines brightest when he sings the music that resonates most with him. Guests have praised the concert for standout musicianship, strong vocals, a personal connection with the audience, and a sound that closely reflects Seger’s style, with many calling it a favorite.
