Head-Up Formations Workshop

A focused skills workshop for advanced vertical flyers who want to develop or refine upright flying. It welcomes skydivers building experience for vertical bigways or preparing for record attempts, and experienced VFS athletes who want to stay current with head-up formation techniques. The plan features innovative formations arranged to keep safety at the forefront while letting participants of varying abilities concentrate on the next objectives they want to reach. Registration is 175 dollars, plus five to six jumps per day paid directly to the DZ. Space is limited, and a completed registration form with payment is required to secure a slot. Minimum skills include the ability to approach the formation safely in a head-down orientation and then move to head-up, perform in-place VFS transitions between head-up and head-down, and break off on heading. Ride out to Leesburg Bikefest

The ride begins at RaceTrac and heads to Leesburg Bikefest, sticking to back roads for the entire trip. Afterward, the plan is to return to Ace Cafe for bike night.

Guided Bike Ride – 13km (8 miles) or 25km (15 miles) -Rotary Park Edgewater, FL

Enjoy a guided ride with a choice of approximately 13 km or 25 km on an out-and-back rail-trail segment of the developing River-to-Sea Loop. As part of Celebrate Trails Day, group leaders maintain a comfortable pace of about 8 to 12 mph while both route options head south from the springs toward Osteen before turning back. Expect about one to two hours of pedaling depending on the distance, with a trail rating of 1A. This is an IVV event, and Bike Distance Books are welcome. The participation fee is $4 for most riders, with children 12 and under free unless requesting AVA credit. Participants are responsible for their own bicycles. Helmets and appropriate safety gear are recommended, and bringing water and sunscreen is encouraged. A simple pre-ride check the day before is suggested, including tire pressure, chain lubrication, and brakes. Parking is limited, with overflow available at the Deltona Community Center near the park entrance and a short ride into the park if needed. Rental bicycles are available from Bob’s Bike Shop.

Open Studio Time Sat 4/25/26

This open studio is designed for individuals with some experience in mosaic or stained glass. It offers three hours of unstructured time for creating art, experimenting, and exploring different materials. The host will be available to assist you during your creative process, though formal lessons will not be provided. Included are small wood boards for mosaics, hand-cutting tools and grinders, small stained glass pieces, glue, and paint. Please note that larger glass pieces and the glass ring saw will not be accessible during the open studio session. Remember to wear closed-toe shoes, and safety goggles are required for those who do not wear glasses.

A Walk Through Her Healing

Community Baby Shower

This community baby shower focuses on providing essential supplies to mothers. Contributions come through a silent auction and a registry. Last year, the effort helped close to 100 mothers and provided five cribs as well as several car seats and strollers. The goal this year is to supply or purchase 30 cribs or car seats.

DeLand Death Cafe!

Gather at Destinations Gift Shop for a relaxed Death Cafe conversation that welcomes honest talk about death, the one inevitability. Launched in England in 2011 and now happening in about 100 countries, these nonprofit gatherings focus on open dialogue rather than grief counseling or bereavement support. The goal is to build comfort and clarity around death and dying so people can reflect on life with greater intention. This meeting offers a welcoming, pressure free space where participants can share questions, stories, fears, hopes, and whatever else comes up while learning from one another in a respectful setting. A Hamilton-inspired spring fundraiser transforms the Athens Theatre into a showcase for Broadway talent, with four artists from the hit musical taking center stage for a one-night concert. Miguel Cervantes, who led the title role in Chicago from 2016 until that production closed in early 2020 and then on Broadway through 2024, appears alongside Morgan Anita Wood, whose nearly eight-year journey with the show culminated in her Broadway debut as Eliza and included the Puerto Rico engagement starring Lin-Manuel Miranda, plus appearances in Kinky Boots at the Hollywood Bowl and Loving and Loving at Actors Theatre of Louisville, as well as a recent season of Tim Robinson’s The Chair Company on HBO Max. Tamar Greene, the longest-tenured George Washington on Broadway, brings commanding vocals and a résumé that spans leading roles on Broadway, national tours, and regional stages, including a recent turn as Coalhouse Walker Jr. in Ragtime at Stages St. Louis. Rounding out the lineup is Ta-Tynisa Wilson, a Schuyler Sister standby whose credits include Dreamgirls, The Color Purple, and The Bodyguard, along with national recognition as a Top 24 contestant on Season 10 of American Idol. These guest artists share the stage with members of the Athens Theatre family in a concert inspired by Hamilton and the music and storytelling that made it a global phenomenon. Proceeds support the Athens Theatre Youth Academy, the continued preservation and care of the historic 104-year-old venue, and efforts to offset recent reductions in arts funding at the state and other levels. Renegade & Smokin’ celebrates the music of Styx and Boston with a high-energy tribute conceived in 2018 by five friends from South Florida. The show blends blazing guitar work, classic synth sounds, tight harmonies, and a driving rhythm section, creating a concert experience that invites sing along moments to favorites such as Too Much Time on My Hands, Come Sail Away, Renegade, More Than a Feeling, Amanda, and Long Time. Reserved seating is offered, with preferred reserved seats at $40 in the first six rows of the orchestra and two rows in the center balcony, and general reserved seats at $35. A $5 processing fee per ticket applies, and a 6.5 percent state and county sales tax is collected. The Historic Athens Theatre does not have an elevator to the balcony, so balcony seating is not accessible to patrons using a wheelchair or walker. Free Shred Day - Orange City

Safely discard paper documents at a complimentary shredding event at Launch Credit Union’s Orange City branch. Both members and non-members are welcome. Bring up to five boxes of paper to be securely shredded and disposed of at no cost. To help everything run smoothly, do not include plastic items such as bags or CDs, and avoid metal or other trash. Remove metal and binder clips, while staples may remain. Place your boxed or bagged materials in your trunk, remain in your vehicle, and a Launch representative will retrieve them. Following a 2022 lineup refresh that added the Molasses Brass and a drummer with a cyborg persona, they have toured across the country. Their most recent album, Pop City, arrived in 2025. The concert takes place at Northwest Square in the downtown DeLand historic district, a historic complex featuring a food hall, a taproom, event spaces, shopping, and 15 apartments.

Full "Flower" Moon Guided Hike

Enjoy a guided hike beneath the glow of the full Worm Moon. The group will gather at the roadside pavilion. The cost is $3 per person, and park admission is not included. Breaking Bad Poetry Indy Qualifier

This winner-takes-all poetry slam determines the Indy representative for MainStreet Art and Culture Slam at both the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam in Kansas City, Kansas and the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival Indy Competition in Orlando, Florida. As many as ten poets each perform two poems. The opening round order is randomized, the second round runs from highest to lowest based on earlier scores, and the top four advance to a reset final with a fresh draw. The highest score in the last round wins. If there is a tie, totals from the first two rounds are added. If a tie remains, additional unscored rounds continue until a champion is decided. The winner claims the full prize package and the official MainStreet Art and Culture Slam Indy Champion title, including $250, a berth at the BlackBerry Peach National Poetry Slam with a $250 in-competition stipend issued after the first round in Kansas City, Kansas, and a berth at the Southern Fried Poetry Slam Festival Indy Competition with dues covered if needed. Regen Monthly Soundbath

This monthly Reiki-infused sound bath offers a one hour immersion in soothing sound paired with the gentle flow of Reiki to support deep relaxation, inner healing, and spiritual renewal. Reiki is shared by Ashley through distance Reiki or provided hands-on in collaboration with Lisa Valerio of Energy Rising LLC. Participation is limited to four people per session, so advance confirmation is requested. The cost is $35 per person and payment is accepted via CashApp, Zelle, card, or at the event. Additional sessions are available each month.

Deltona Sons and Daughters Monthly Craft Fair (Theme TBD)

Celebrate the season at the monthly craft fair hosted by the Deltona Sons & Daughters of Italy. Summer Dance Experience… Kids & Teens (Hip Hop + Latin) Deltona, FL

Keep kids and teens moving this summer with a five-week dance program at The Center at Deltona designed for ages 3 to 17. Participants explore Hip Hop and Latin styles while building skills, boosting confidence, and staying active in a positive, supportive setting. Young dancers learn fresh moves, improve coordination, and enjoy the camaraderie of a welcoming dance community. Classes are high energy and well structured, with groups organized by age so everyone can learn at the right pace. The series offers Hip Hop and Latin sessions on separate days each week, and class times vary by age group. Early enrollment is priced at $60, with a standard rate of $75 afterward. Space is limited, the discounted rate is secured once tuition is paid in full, and all payments are non-refundable once processed.

Hip Hop Groove… Adult Dance Class (Summer 2026) Deltona, FL

Get moving with a summer edition of Hip Hop Groove, an upbeat adult hip hop class at The Center at Deltona. This five-week series welcomes all experience levels, with a special focus on newcomers, and no prior dance background is required. Participants learn straightforward choreography, enjoy a supportive and pressure-free atmosphere, and groove to energizing music while getting a full-body workout. The experience centers on building confidence, picking up fresh steps, and enjoying a refreshing midweek break in a friendly, positive space. Pricing is available as a $60 package for the full series or $15 per class for drop-ins.

Legacy Investor Appreciation Breakfast

A celebratory breakfast recognizes the investors and members whose leadership sustains the Chamber and moves West Volusia forward. Hosted at The Center at Deltona, this gathering expresses appreciation for the individuals and organizations that power the Chamber’s mission. Business attire is requested. Advance registration is required and tickets are not available at the door. Admission is complimentary for Chamber members and $20 for non-members, and each ticket includes entry and breakfast. Meet the Author Night | Indie Author Q&A

At Black Rose Bookshop, an interactive evening with an indie author invites readers to connect directly with the writer, talk about the book, and enjoy a book club style conversation. There will be time to socialize, then hear from the author live, followed by a Q&A. This special session is in addition to the regular monthly book club, not a replacement. To get the most from the discussion, participants are encouraged to have a copy of the book beforehand. Orders placed through TikTok Shop come with a signed, personalized copy and a small appreciation package. Expect giveaways and a few extra surprises, and take time to browse and shop around the store during the event. Everyone is welcome, whether you have read the book or are simply curious.

DeLand Death Cafe!

Hosted at Destinations Gift Shop, this Death Cafe offers an open conversation about death, the one certainty in life. The Death Cafe movement began in England in 2011 and gatherings have taken place in around 100 countries. It operates on a not for profit basis and is not a bereavement support group or a counseling service. The aim is to raise awareness, normalize and demystify death and dying so people can consider how to make the most of their finite lives. The tone is casual and inclusive, supportive without pressure, creating a respectful place to reflect, share perspectives and learn from one another. Participants can speak candidly, exploring questions, experiences, fears, hopes and whatever else arises. There is no preset agenda or themes, and no hierarchy, making it a discussion group rather than grief support or counseling. Attendance is free. Refreshments such as coffee and baked goods are available for purchase from Destinations Gift Shop.

2026 Dealing for Diamonds Casino Night

Casino games and friendly competition take center stage at The Center at Deltona as this casino night returns in support of a meaningful cause. Each ticket includes chips for play, a dinner buffet, and two drink tickets, plus access to raffle items and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit a mission focused on supporting and advocating for individuals affected by human trafficking and extreme poverty.

Movie Magic Video Camp - Summer Session C

Rising 3rd through 7th graders can step behind the scenes at Movie Magic Video Camp this summer, learning how films are made while creating a short of their own with guidance from industry professionals, including Emmy Award winning filmmakers and YouTube creators with over 140,000 subscribers. Campers practice audition and acting techniques, pick up the essentials of filmmaking, work on a real set as crew, and perform on camera. The experience wraps with a red carpet public premiere, and the finished film will be featured on the And You Films YouTube channel. The camp takes place indoors in air conditioned spaces at DeLand Parks & Rec. Tuition is $495 per camper, and scholarships are available upon request. Space is limited.
