Ladies Bunco

A ladies Bunco night at the Legion takes place in the bar and lounge area and welcomes the public. The buy-in is $10, and play typically spans three rounds, with a fourth if time allows. Cash prizes are awarded to four winners, recognizing the player with the most Buncos, the player with the most wins, the player with the most losses, and the participant wearing the crown at the end of the games, which is earned by rolling all twos. A small potluck adds to the evening, and participants may bring a shareable snack serving two to four people, though contributing is optional. Santa Rosa Beach Summer Camp

Kids can spend their days moving, learning, and making friends at Mind over Mat Summer Camp hosted at Santa Rosa Beach Aerial Arts. Campers will explore yoga, dance, juggling, and flow arts, with an additional special activity offered each day. Teaching staff are trained in Conscious Discipline, and the group size is supported by a ratio of one teacher for every 12 children. All children ages 5 to 13 are welcome. All Sports Association Golf Tournament

At Emerald Bay Golf Club, this All Sports Association golf tournament turns a day on the course into meaningful support for youth athletics across the Emerald Coast. The association is volunteer driven and raises funds for local nonprofits with a strong focus on sports, supporting organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast, Special Olympics Florida – Okaloosa, the Eleanor J. Johnson Youth Center, and Okaloosa Walton FCA. Participation helps provide opportunities and resources for young athletes and the programs that serve them. The format is a four person scramble, and the field is limited to the first 36 teams. The team fee is 800 dollars and covers four golfers, sponsor signage on a hole, lunch after play, and water, beer, and soft drinks. Raffles and prizes are planned, with opportunities to connect with local business and community leaders. It is a full day on the course in support of local youth sports, and spots tend to go fast as the event sells out every year.

Therapy Dog Classes & Testing

Dog-Harmony presents a four-week program designed for dog-and-handler teams preparing for official evaluation with Intermountain Therapy Animals. Through practical lessons, participants build essential skills in safe handling and therapy-dog etiquette while learning how to navigate visits in hospitals, schools, libraries, and other community settings. In-person classes take place at Pet Supplies Plus, and the curriculum includes a required online session with ITA evaluator Merilee Kelly. The cost is 195 dollars and includes the Intermountain Therapy Animals training manual for affiliated organizations. After the instructional portion and the Zoom session, teams receive support for testing, guidance with application paperwork, and opportunities to observe therapy-dog visits without their dogs to gain confidence. The session begins with a thorough review of blacksmithing safety, then moves into hammer control practice. Techniques covered include drawing out and hot punching, along with hardening, quenching, tapering, bending, and finishing. If time allows, additional jewelry pieces may be made. Wear natural fiber long pants and closed toe shoes, with leather preferred. A long sleeve natural fiber shirt is recommended since scale can occasionally sting bare arms.
