Art and Yoga Workshop: "Self-Reflection"

Part of the Sacred Sundays series, this guided art and yoga workshop centers on self reflection and the clarity that can come from feeling and being seen. Participants explore their inner world through gentle movement, visualization, meditation, and a shared body painting practice. The session opens with grounding and visualization to reconnect with the inner child and build awareness in the body. It then moves into a collaborative painting experience that uses color, symbols, and intuitive marks to express what is sensed within oneself and in one another. With mirror work and prompted writing, participants consider how inner perceptions align with outward impressions. The experience closes with intentional grounding and the creation of a final artwork to carry the insights forward. It is presented as a non therapeutic offering, and everything is invitational so each person chooses their level of participation. No prior yoga or art experience is required, since the focus is expression rather than perfection. Comfortable clothing that can get messy is recommended. Materials are provided, and the space is designed to support breathing, reflection, and reconnection. Everyone is welcome. Participants often leave with a completed reflective piece, a deeper sense of self awareness, a refreshed perspective on how they are seen and felt, and connection with a supportive creative community. Advance signup is required and capacity is limited. A pop up gallery follows the workshop with artwork to explore, light snacks and mocktails, time to connect with others, and art and prints available for purchase. For details, contact Amy Meyer, yoga instructor, at theunboundmama@gmail.com or by text at 850.974.9839, or contact Katlyn Dorriety, art instructor, at Katlyndorriety@gmail.com or by text at 850.307.8907.

Lights, Camera, Courage: A Sickle Cell Film Event

At Suds N Cinema, a film program honors the resilience, contributions, and progress of African Americans in cinema with a focus on the fight against sickle cell disease, and it also commemorates local civil rights history. It highlights national advances in medicine, lifts up community voices, and acknowledges historic milestones in Okaloosa County. The venue once operated as the Tringas Theater, where in the 1950s African American residents were limited to viewing films from a small upstairs balcony, a local chapter that frames the day’s reflections. The centerpiece is a screening of A Warm December, directed by and starring Sidney Poitier, a poignant story about love, dignity, and illness that connects to themes of sickle cell awareness. A reflection and discussion will follow the film. The program also features the work of Juliet Romeo, an award-winning filmmaker whose storytelling reflects her identity as a disabled Caribbean woman. Her documentaries on life with sickle cell disease include J.U.L.E.S and the award-winning short Uncomplicated. Her films have appeared on PBS and on Delta’s in-flight entertainment, and she founded the Unstoppable program at the Slamdance Film Festival to support filmmakers with disabilities. Her advocacy for sickle cell healthcare and disability rights has been widely recognized.

Ladies BUNCO

A relaxed ladies bunco night at the Legion brings people together in the bar and lounge area for dice, conversation, and friendly competition. The group meets once a month on the third Tuesday, and attendance is flexible rather than required. It uses a $10 buy-in and typically runs three rounds, with a fourth if time allows. The evening wraps up with four winners who receive varying cash prizes, recognizing most buncos, most wins, most losses, and the crown awarded to the player who rolls all twos. A small potluck is encouraged, with snacks that serve two to four people appreciated, though contributing food is optional. The bar is open for drink purchases and outside beverages are not permitted. The event welcomes the public, and questions can be sent through posts or messenger.

Intuitive Tarot Readings & Spiritual Guidance — In Person

In person intuitive tarot readings and spiritual guidance are offered at Stone Soup ISC through spacious, grounded conversations that use tarot and oracle cards as an entry point into what is unfolding in your life. Rather than leaning on memorized meanings, the practitioner is a trained seer who channels and attends to context, energy, story, and pattern. Sessions can look at family patterns passed down through generations, emotional blocks and habits of avoidance, the spiritual turning point you are moving through, recurring themes in relationships, pivotal choices and direction, possible past life influences on the present, and what this chapter of life is asking of you. Many arrive with something hard to name and often leave with clearer insight into the pattern at play, the lesson, and a tangible next step. This is a calm space to slow down, take an honest look at what is happening, and reconnect with your own inner knowing. Appointments are encouraged, and walk-ins are welcome as time allows. The Session

This is a nervous system reorganization experience where the body settles and updates without effort. If youve been on a spiritual or healing path and feel theres a layer that hasnt shifted yet, this work is for you. Patterns that have been running subconsciously can become visible and begin to shift. This may be experienced through physical movement, changes in sensation, emotional release, or moments of clarity and insight. In a quiet space with music, the body may move, adjust, or remain still, and you may notice changes in sensation, emotion, or awareness. This is for someone who has done the work, the talking, the analyzing, the trying to figure it out, and senses there is a layer that has not moved yet, someone open to change that does not require understanding it first, and someone willing to arrive and allow what happens to happen. This work does not require belief or prior experience, as the system responds directly.

Wednesday Night Concert Series | Modern Eldorados

Wednesday Night Concerts return to The Village of Baytowne Wharf with an outdoor show on the Events Plaza Stage, featuring live music from both local and regional performers across a range of genres. Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. This week features The Modern Eldorados, formed in 1994 as a platform for singer and songwriter Gretsch Lyles and collaborator Chris Reid to present their original classic country sound. Lyles grew up in a family of musicians and drew deep inspiration from his grandparents’ era of country greats. Raised in rural Baldwin County, Alabama, he began singing and playing guitar at six and wrote his first song at sixteen. Guided by the legacy of Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, and Johnny Cash, his style and voice reflect those roots. Their performance goes beyond a standard set, blending rich country history with energetic showmanship. Lyles commands the stage with the conviction of a gospel preacher and a streak of witty Southern humor, shaping an engaging tour through true American honky tonk.
