You will leave with a bonsai you shaped yourself and the know-how to keep it thriving, along with a welcome sense of calm. The Ligustrum, often known as privet, is also highlighted as a hardy, fast-growing option that responds especially well to pruning, quickly pushing new growth and developing dense branching that suggests the character of an ancient tree in miniature. De'France Indoor Fleamarket Antiques & Collectibles, 230 Eglin Pkwy SE, Fort Walton Beach · verified Sep 6
    See details

Back at its original home of DeFrance Antiques, this car show highlights new school versus old school muscle, classics, and a wide range of custom cars, trucks, and motorcycles, presented by DeFrance Antiques and HulkSmash. The schedule flows from vehicle arrivals and placement, to judging, then an awards presentation to close the event, with a 50/50 drawing and raffles happening throughout the day. Judges take a comprehensive look at each build. Exterior evaluations consider paint or wrap, lighting, brightwork, trim, wheels and tires, suspension, and overall detailing. The drivetrain and undercarriage are reviewed for presentation and cleanliness. Interiors and trunks are assessed for audio equipment, dashboard layout, coverings, and specialty touches. Under the hood, attention is given to intake and exhaust, inner fenders, firewall, wiring, and engine components. Both customization and restoration are scored for originality, workmanship, authenticity, effectiveness, and overall appeal. Well-presented displays, including build boards, can earn extra points and may be used to break a tie. Pre-registration is available ahead of the show. All participants must complete a registration form and a liability form that will be provided on site the day of the event. Award categories will be announced. The show also supports a community effort by collecting new twin-size bed-in-a-bag sets and pillows to accompany bed deliveries. Proceeds benefit Sleep Heavenly Peace.
