Hadestown: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown, reworked for teen actors and presented for family audiences. It weaves together two love stories: Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades with Persephone, bringing the folk-opera sound and hopeful spirit to the stage.

Kids ages 4 to 17 are invited to a beach-focused camp week at Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The program includes snorkeling in a pool and shallow ocean, boogie boarding, skimboarding, eco ocean art, beach cleanups, and marine science activities. Lunch is included, and all ocean activities run depending on the weather.

There is also a chance to earn an official Guinness adjudication, blending STEAM learning with playful competition and showing that anyone can strive to be a record breaker. Begin in an introductory theater with a film that traces the origins of GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS and its rise as the global authority on record breaking. Continue to a quiz that explains what qualifies as an official record and the scientific criteria behind it. Dive into remarkable feats, aim for top scores in the Attempt Arenas, and hear insights from an adjudicator and a scientist. Sharpen concentration with memory challenges, hands-on puzzles, and games inspired by techniques used by real record holders. Test reaction speed in fast paced activities, track progress on live leaderboards, and pick up tips for improving performance. Push endurance with challenges such as the hang bar and balance boards while learning about muscle fatigue and stamina. Conclude with a closing film featuring inspiring stories of record holders, then pose with official certificates to picture a place in the record books. Exhibit included with Museum admission. A monthly ukulele sing and play along brings a welcoming community of music lovers to the 6th Floor of the Broward County Main Library. Led by Laura and the FUN Florida Ukulele Network, the gathering features group strumming and singing in a relaxed setting, with chords and lyrics projected so everyone can follow along. This edition spotlights The Rock and Roll Review, celebrating songs from the 1950s through the 1980s that invite plenty of singing and smiles. Participants may bring a ukulele or another acoustic instrument, or take part using just their voice. It suits all experience levels and also offers a chance to simply enjoy live music. The program is free and open to ages 15 and up, and parking is available in the adjoining city garage. Presented by the FUN Florida Ukulele Network and The Friends of Fort Lauderdale Libraries.

Dive into the big blue world with Nemo Kids, a lively 30-minute musical based on the beloved Pixar film. Marlin, an anxious and overprotective clownfish, sets out to find his son Nemo after Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney. Along the way, Marlin faces his fears and meets familiar characters like Dory on an ocean-spanning adventure.

The ghostly laughs of a Broadway favorite arrive in a Broadway Junior version that reimagines the hit musical for a younger cast. Inspired by the beloved movie that sparked a stage phenomenon, the story centers on Lydia Deetz, a quirky teen who is grieving her mother and fascinated by the afterlife. When she and her father move into a home shared by a newly deceased couple and the unruly Beetlejuice, she asks the mischievous spirit to chase away the living, which opens the door to all kinds of otherworldly chaos. Performed by the 10 to 13 year old campers of the Broward Center and Performance Project Summer Camp, this production takes place at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. Lap seats may be purchased for children 12 months and under at the Broward Center’s AutoNation Box Office, and every person entering the theater must have a ticket.

Young SEEDs in the Park is a free, 2.5-hour program for children ages 5 to 12. An RSVP through Eventbrite is required to participate. Through hands-on activities, children learn about nutrition and wellness, practice making thoughtful choices, and discover how those choices support their own health and the well-being of the planet. The day blends gardening, food demonstrations, and education with movement, yoga, mindful breathing, and art. During cooking segments, educators introduce new vegetables to broaden young palates and encourage healthy eating. In the garden, kids dig in with practical tasks like planting and mulching, then transition from active play to creative time for inspiration and art. Monthly meetings feature fresh activities, and continued attendance is encouraged.
