Held at Growing Green Families, this single day childbirth education class helps expectant parents understand their options for birth, make informed decisions, and feel confident in their goals. Instruction explores the final trimester, mental and physical preparation, practical comfort techniques for labor and birth, how labor and birth work, what to expect after delivery, and ways to communicate and advocate for personal preferences. Breastfeeding and newborn care are not included. The class is led by Megan Scott of Stronger Together Birth Collaborative. Participants may bring lunch or plan a quick trip to pick something up so they can eat during the session. Short breaks are included, and snacks and drinks are welcome. Water and coffee or tea will be available, and a fridge and microwave are on site. The cost is $175. At Fort Walton Beach Civic Auditorium, The Pyramid Players bring Disney's Aladdin Jr. to the stage, a musical drawn from the 1992 Academy Award winning film and the 2014 Broadway hit. Before the performance, explore a Pyramid-wide art show and a silent auction with raffles, and enjoy light refreshments. The tale follows Aladdin and his friends Babkak, Omar, and Kassim as a magic lamp and a wish-granting Genie set them on a path that challenges courage and integrity, all while Aladdin seeks the respect of Princess Jasmine.
