Pull on your favorite boots for a day of barbecue tasting, live music, drinks, a food truck, vendors, and plenty of fun that supports a local cause. Presented by the Firefighter Charity of Central Florida, this new fundraiser benefits a community program that provides monthly grants for local women who need financial assistance. The Pink Firetruck will debut a new honorary name, dedicated in honor or memory of a local woman who battled cancer, and serves as a moving reminder encouraging women in Central Florida to stay current with cancer checks. The event features a sanctioned barbecue competition in Florida, with teams from across the state competing for top brisket, chicken, ribs, and pork. Attendees can join a people’s choice tasting of slow smoked pork and help select a favorite. Cold drinks are available from the bar, hearty burgers come from the Backdraft Grill, vendors are on site, live music is provided by Hypersona, and there is swag and bikes to browse inside Gator. Admission is free. There is a charge only if you choose to taste and judge the barbecue.

Meet a selection of The Animal League’s adoptable dogs at the newly opened Petco in Clermont. Friendly volunteers will be available to discuss adopting, fostering, volunteering, donating, and any questions about The Animal League. Cat lovers can also connect with Team Meow volunteers for in-store meet and greets with the cats housed at this location. Store employees cannot provide access for hands-on visits with the cats, so appointments with the adoption team are required. The Animal League follows a best match approach to pair each pet with a home that fits the adopter’s lifestyle and environment, and the process begins with an adoption application.

Food, drinks, and music await on the patio.
