    Katie Skene

Tallahassee · Goodwood Museum & Gardens, 1511 Surgeons Dr

Sponsored by Friends of Maclay Schools, this performance spotlights Katie Skene, a singer, guitarist, and songwriter whose Cosmic Swamp Americana blends Southern roots with West Coast spirit. Raised in Tallahassee’s blues community, she spent more than a decade in California’s jam band scene before relocating to Nashville, a journey that shapes her voice, writing, and guitar work. Together with her band, she weaves evocative vocals and expressive playing into a mix of electric blues and open-ended improvisation, radiating joyful, high-energy interplay. The performance features adventurous synth textures, vibrant keyboards, and soaring, Southern-tinged guitar supporting blues-soaked vocals over a deep, in-the-pocket groove. The sound nods to the exploratory spirit of the Allman Brothers Band and the Grateful Dead while staying unpredictable in ways that still feel familiar. Presented at Goodwood Museum & Gardens.
