Express Yourself - Homeschool Session

A studio-style homeschool art class created for middle and high school learners invites ages 12 and up to think and work like artists within a Teaching for Artistic Behavior, or TAB, framework. Students with a strong interest in the visual arts build patience, focus, and confidence while learning to adapt to unexpected results. Each meeting often opens with creative warm ups or sketching, followed by skill-building instruction in a featured medium and inspiration from examples. Young artists then choose their own subject matter, plan compositions, explore techniques, and reflect on their work while offering and receiving peer feedback, leading to finished pieces that vary based on individual interests, skills, and style. Guided by a professional artist and educator, the class blends themed lessons with demonstrations and ample choice so participants develop voice, vision, and more advanced practices. The environment emphasizes kindness, friendship, and inventive problem solving, and it celebrates every student’s unique talents and growth. No prior experience is required, though the ability to plan, problem solve, and engage sincerely with the creative process is important. Age exceptions may be considered at the instructor’s discretion. Classes are offered at $25 per class or as a six-class series for $150 with all supplies provided. The schedule may extend beyond seven consecutive weeks when holidays or studio needs arise, and a couple of meetings in a session may run on a slightly adjusted schedule. Wear clothes that can handle creative messes; aprons are available for those who want them. All art materials are supplied by the studio. Bring a water bottle or other drink, and consider packing a snack.

Rooted Zen Pool Tournament

Compete in a double elimination 8-ball tournament where a single loss does not end your run. Entry is tied to having a tab, and sign-ups can be completed on site or by texting Anthony or Zach. Prizes include gift cards and a free drink, and every participant receives 10 percent off their tab. Play follows standard 8-ball. Use a triangle rack, decide the opening break by coin flip, then alternate breaks. Every shot is called and the table is open after the break. Standard fouls apply, including scratches, failing to contact your own group first, or not driving a ball to a rail after contact. After any foul the opponent takes ball in hand. A game is won by legally pocketing the 8-ball after clearing solids or stripes. Please keep sportsmanship high and respect players, referees, and equipment. Coaching should be minimal... friendly pointers are fine while letting competitors play. Each shot has a time limit. Keep food and drinks off the table, and deliberate damage may lead to disqualification. A tournament referee settles all disputes and decisions are final. Spectators are welcome to cheer without interfering, and a grace period is offered for late arrivals before a forfeit.

Express Yourself - Homeschool Session

A studio-style homeschool art class for middle and high school learners invites young creators to work like artists using the TAB, Teaching for Artistic Behavior, approach. Happy Together Tour 2026

The Happy Together Tour brings a hit-packed night to King Center for the Performing Arts, celebrating its 17th year with a stage full of favorites from the 1960s and 1970s and a setlist that nods to more than 60 Billboard Top 40 classics. The Association returns with signature tracks like “Cherish,” “Windy,” “Never My Love,” and “Along Comes Mary,” recalling their strong presence on 1960s radio. Making a first appearance on the tour, The Troggs deliver the British beat on “Wild Thing,” “With a Girl Like You,” and “Love Is All Around,” songs that each sold over a million copies, with “Wild Thing” recognized on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Jason Scheff, who fronted Chicago from 1985 to 2016, adds his voice to staples associated with the band, including “25 or 6 to 4,” “Just You and Me,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Feeling Stronger Every Day,” and the later favorite “Will You Still Love Me?”. Gary Puckett revisits standouts such as “Young Girl,” “Over You,” “Woman, Woman,” “This Girl Is a Woman Now,” “Lady Willpower,” and “Don’t Give In to Him.” Ron Dante, known as the lead singer of The Archies on “Sugar, Sugar,” “Bang-Shang-A-Lang,” and “Jingle Jangle,” and who served as lead singer for The Turtles from 2018 to 2025, helps guide the signature finale set to the tour’s theme song, “Happy Together.” The Vogues showcase their hallmark harmonies with “Five O’Clock World,” “You’re the One,” “My Special Angel,” and “Turn Around, Look at Me.” Rounding out the bill, The Cowsills, a family trio that inspired The Partridge Family, share beloved tunes including “Hair,” “Indian Lake,” “The Rain, The Park & Other Things (I Love the Flower Girl),” and “Love, American Style.” Known for staging more than 50 performances annually, the tour keeps that momentum going with this stop.

The Rite of the Womb Ceremony

At The Chacana Spiritual Center, Full Mesa Carrier Ashley Weaver leads a sacred, experiential class that shares the Rite of the Womb, an ancestral healing ceremony that restores connection with the sacred feminine and honors the womb as a source of creation, care, and deep wisdom. Through guided meditation, energy work, and other ceremonial practices, participants explore how to release stored blockages, emotional pain, and old trauma held in the womb space, then reclaim the strength of this center. The experience welcomes anyone who wishes to connect with the feminine within, mend ancestral patterns, and nurture their creative potential. The setting is supportive and empowering. You will learn to honor the womb as a sacred space and open to greater intuition, creativity, and self love. Teachings also reflect on the cycles of life, death, and renewal, encouraging a closer relationship with the rhythms of nature and the larger cosmos. Many leave feeling steadier, more aligned, and ready to inhabit their wholeness and sacred power. Ashley is a Full Mesa carrier trained in Peruvian Shamanic healing practices. With a background in healthcare and human resources, she began formal spiritual studies about eight years ago, a path that brought her to the Chacana Center. She values learning by doing and sharing, holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, is certified in multiple levels of PADI scuba diving, stays committed to health and fitness, volunteers with an animal shelter, and aspires to offer shamanic service for animals in the future. Class refund policy: refunds are provided when cancellation occurs at least 24 hours before the class.
