The Gulf Coast Runners Youth Team launches its 2026 cross country season with training for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Sessions are organized by age, with elementary runners in kindergarten through fifth grade split into lower elementary for kindergarten through second grade and upper elementary for third through fifth grade. Elementary participants should be able to use the restroom independently and tie their own shoes. The middle school group for sixth through eighth grade is led by Coach Justin Moomaw, who emphasizes high performance and prepares athletes to pursue district and state qualification. Training goals progress by level, building toward 1K for lower elementary, 2K for upper elementary, and 3K for middle school.
