A community cleanup and wellness morning at Lowdermilk Beach partners with Keep Collier Beautiful to remove cigarette butts, nets, old beach toys, and other debris from the sand in celebration of World Ocean Month. The cleanup is planned for about an hour, followed by a 30 minute cool down Pilates flow and stretch. Comfortable clothing that can get dirty is recommended, or swimsuits with a cover up. Bring a mat or towel for the class, along with water and sunscreen. A giveaway includes a free three class pack from Club Pilates. Design a custom hat at a summer workshop at Hopsized Brewing in Bonita Springs. Two formats are offered at the same location, the traditional hat bar with burning and a hat painting workshop. Skilled artisans from For the Love of Hats provide guidance as participants choose a hat and personalize it with ribbons, embellishments, leather cord, decorative pins, dried florals, charms and feathers. Each ticket includes one hat, hat burning guidance and five accessories, with additional add ons available for purchase. Vegan suede rancher flat brims, sun hats and western suede cowboy styles are available. The cost is $85 plus tax. This is an RSVP event with only 15 spots. Once payment is received, a spot is reserved and supplies are pre ordered. Arts Bonita - BIG CANVAS Fluid Art Workshop

Explore large scale fluid abstract painting in a hands-on workshop at the Centers for the Arts Bonita Springs Visual Arts Center. Choose your color palette, mix your paints, and begin with a small practice piece before moving up to a 30 by 40 inch or 36 by 36 inch canvas. Prior experience from at least one class with Tammy is helpful. Working with large canvases involves tilting and lifting, so it can be physically demanding. If accommodations are needed, contact the instructor, or bring a helper at no additional cost. Finished artwork will stay to dry and can be picked up in two to three days. Pack a lunch and drinks. A $100 supply fee paid to the instructor covers all materials for the workshop.

GCR Youth Team 2026 Cross Country Season

The Gulf Coast Runners Youth Team launches its 2026 cross country season with training for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Sessions are organized by age, with elementary runners in kindergarten through fifth grade split into lower elementary for kindergarten through second grade and upper elementary for third through fifth grade. Elementary participants should be able to use the restroom independently and tie their own shoes. The middle school group for sixth through eighth grade is led by Coach Justin Moomaw, who emphasizes high performance and prepares athletes to pursue district and state qualification. Training goals progress by level, building toward 1K for lower elementary, 2K for upper elementary, and 3K for middle school. The season also features the GCR XC State Qualifier, hosted by Gulf Coast Runners, open to all 2026 team members with registration covered by the youth program.

Backyard Social Par-Tee Classic

The Backyard Social Par-Tee Classic invites golfers to Stoneybrook Golf Club in Estero, Florida for a four player scramble. Entry is 150 dollars per golfer and includes lunch from a food truck of choice plus one beverage, with options such as beer, wine, a signature cocktail, or a well drink. After the round, an after party takes place at Backyard Social. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and proceeds benefit The Harland Group Foundation. Teams of four must complete registration in advance.
