Afternoon Art Class

Young artists can dive into art history and studio practice in a class that blends discovery with making. Each week focuses on a different influential creator, exploring their life, hallmark style, and the processes behind their renowned pieces, from the vivid palette of Henri Matisse to the night skies painted by Vincent van Gogh. Students turn inspiration into action through hands-on projects, experimenting with painting, drawing, sculpture, collage, and other media while developing a personal creative voice. Lessons link history to the studio, showing how artists share ideas, tell stories, and reflect the world around them. By the end of the term, participants will have a portfolio of original work and a deeper understanding of how creativity connects across times and cultures. The class is designed for ages 5 to 14. For more information, call or text 850-774-1990. This program is a Step Up Direct Provider.
