1st Annual Ribbon In The Sky Gala
In Pensacola, the Ribbon in the Sky Gala is a community gathering that honors loved ones lost to addiction and overdose, turning grief into legacy. Presented by Jayla’s Voice; Echoes of Addiction, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the evening blends culture, beauty, and remembrance, drawing inspiration from Jayla Michelle’s dream of Japan with a theme that pays tribute to Tokyo and her love of color and creativity. The program includes an Osaka Hour featuring non-alcoholic beverages that symbolize clarity, healing, and respect. Guided by a Japanese proverb that says a name remains even after a person has passed, the purpose of the night is to remember those no longer with us, support grieving families, strengthen overdose awareness and prevention, and carry forward enduring legacies. The event was originally shared under a different working title that was changed to avoid potential copyright issues, and its timing was chosen to meaningfully reflect Jayla’s memory. The specific location will be announced one week before the gala.
PensacolaLimone di Primavera: A Celebration of Spring
Angelena’s presents a lemon-themed culinary celebration led by Executive Chef Ian Gillette, showcasing the brightness and fragrance of Italian lemons across a multi-course tasting, each paired with Italian wines selected by house wine expert Matt Nichols. Drawing inspiration from the coastal flavors of Southern Italy and the Amalfi Coast, the menu progresses from a delicate Gulf snapper crudo lifted with Meyer lemon, Sicilian olive oil, sea salt, chili and strawberry to charred asparagus with herb labneh, a verbena salsa verde and toasted focaccia breadcrumbs. Handcrafted spaghetti al limone with blue crab leads into a grilled hanger steak served with Roman spring fritella, mint pesto and lemon. Dessert features Limone Ripieno, bringing together Amalfi lemon posset and sorbet with olive oil and sea salt. Pairings include wines such as Benanti Etna Bianco, Castello di Volpaia Prelius Vermentino, Petilia Fiano di Avellino, Tenuta del Cerro Colpetrone Montefalco Sagrantino and Massolino Moscato d’Asti. The five-course dinner with five wine pairings is priced at $115 per person, plus tax and gratuity. This is a set menu with no substitutions. Seating is limited and reservations are required.
