    Matt Schofield

Cocoa Beach · Heidi's Jazz Club, 7 N Orlando Ave

Matt Schofield returns to Heidi’s Jazz Club for a night of music that celebrates the British blues tradition through original songs, expressive vocals, and the melodic guitar tone that has inspired many players. Born in Britain and now based in the United States, he has spent more than three decades on stages around the world, with over twenty years leading his own projects, touring nearly thirty countries as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer, and bandleader. His accolades include three consecutive British Blues Awards for Guitarist of the Year, British Blues Album of the Year, and induction into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame. Mojo recognized one of his releases as Blues Album of the Year, and Guitar & Bass magazine has placed him among the top ten British blues guitarists alongside Eric Clapton and Peter Green. The Penguin Book of Blues Recordings awarded him its maximum four-star rating, naming him one of only two living British artists to earn that distinction. His signature sound has also led to sought-after gear, including a Two-Rock amplifier that carries his name. Known for a powerful live presence, he has performed at major festivals such as Montreal and North Sea Jazz and in storied rooms like New York’s Iridium and London’s 100 Club, forging a quick and lasting connection with audiences through authenticity, command of the instrument, and improvisational fire. As an educator, he created the Blues Speak instructional series with TrueFire in 2018 and has shared his expertise in clinics worldwide. His upcoming release reunites him with his original organ trio to mark the twentieth anniversary of the lineup that launched his solo career. A perennial audience favorite, this appearance offers an up-close encounter with one of the most acclaimed blues guitarists of his generation.
