The focus is on love put into practice, with gatherings inspired by Peruvian shamanic wisdom. Each session offers a warm, nurturing setting where young participants can explore who they are, honor exactly how they are, and connect with their own sense of spirituality. Over the course of nine meetings, children receive a sequence of nine angelic rites, one shared in each class. Attending every session completes the series of blessings. Along the way, children may experience a stronger sense of energetic safety, friendship with peers, playful self discovery and growing confidence. They learn simple ways to understand and move through big feelings, practice choosing love more often than fear, and enjoy creative projects with arts and crafts. The teacher, Lindsay Hawkins, is a mesa carrier in the Q’ero tradition trained by Shannon Davis and a certified Nervous System Regulation and Mindset Coach. With deep respect for Andean teachings, she holds spaces for healing, empowerment, and reconnection for individuals and families. A teen-focused driving school centers on practical skills behind the wheel. Participants learn to control their own car at its limits, apply driving physics, make sound decisions, react more quickly, and better anticipate the behavior of other road users. The day blends classroom learning with extensive seat time. About two hours are spent across three classroom sessions, and the remainder is coached driving in the student’s vehicle. On the course, students practice skid recovery on a wet surface, emergency lane changes to avoid hazards, maximum braking with ABS, and a cone weave that teaches weight transfer. When conditions allow, there is also a recovery drill with two wheels off the course and training on maintaining safe following distance. Classroom topics include proper seating and hand placement, mirror setup, the small area of the tire that touches the road, principles of weight transfer, looking far ahead, and overall awareness. Distractions are addressed, including music, phones, and having multiple teens in the car. When feasible, a semi truck blind spot demonstration shows how many nearby cars disappear from the driver’s view, and an airbag deployment may be demonstrated to reinforce safe hand position. Parents are encouraged to spend the day with their student, may attend the classroom portions, and can speak with instructors throughout the program. It is a full day, schedules vary by location, and lunch is provided for students, parents, and volunteers along with additional learning demonstrations. The fee is $175. The Tire Rack Street Survival school is designed to equip young drivers with practical skills for safer everyday driving.

At the King Center for the Performing Arts, The Vampire Circus conjures a gothic carnival world with a theatrical circus experience that blends cabaret flair, storytelling, dance, gymnastics, and soaring acrobatics. This 90-minute production showcases international artists in contortion, juggling, aerial work, and clowning, matched with dramatic sound and striking illusions for a journey that swings between chills and laughter. Set in 19th-century Bohemia, the tale follows Count Dracula as he launches a traveling circus with his bodyguards, using the spectacle as cover for an audacious quest for power. The staging draws the crowd into the action, dissolving the barrier between performers and spectators for an immersive plunge into a vampire underworld. Inspired by the mystique of historic traveling carnivals and brought to life from a concept by Francisco Santos, a Cirque du Soleil veteran, the show pushes physical limits and delivers uncanny characters and bold feats designed to astonish.
