Wickham Park, Melbourne · verified Sep 18
    Free

The Brevard County Farmers Market sets up under the Regional Pavilion at Wickham Park in Melbourne with a food-first focus, featuring edible, locally produced foods and other agricultural goods rather than crafts or art. It operates year-round, except on holidays and during hurricane closures. Admission and parking are free. Many vendors accept cards, though carrying some cash is helpful for those that do not. Tire Rack Street Survival

Brevard Adult & Community Education, 1225 Clearlake Rd, Cocoa · verified Sep 11
    See details

A teen-focused driving school centers on practical skills behind the wheel. Participants learn to control their own car at its limits, apply driving physics, make sound decisions, react more quickly, and better anticipate the behavior of other road users. The day blends classroom learning with extensive seat time. About two hours are spent across three classroom sessions, and the remainder is coached driving in the student’s vehicle. On the course, students practice skid recovery on a wet surface, emergency lane changes to avoid hazards, maximum braking with ABS, and a cone weave that teaches weight transfer. When conditions allow, there is also a recovery drill with two wheels off the course and training on maintaining safe following distance. Classroom topics include proper seating and hand placement, mirror setup, the small area of the tire that touches the road, principles of weight transfer, looking far ahead, and overall awareness. Distractions are addressed, including music, phones, and having multiple teens in the car. When feasible, a semi truck blind spot demonstration shows how many nearby cars disappear from the driver’s view, and an airbag deployment may be demonstrated to reinforce safe hand position. Parents are encouraged to spend the day with their student, may attend the classroom portions, and can speak with instructors throughout the program. It is a full day, schedules vary by location, and lunch is provided for students, parents, and volunteers along with additional learning demonstrations. The fee is $175. The Tire Rack Street Survival school is designed to equip young drivers with practical skills for safer everyday driving.

    Full Moon Ceremony

The Chacana Spiritual Center, 101 Brevard Dr W, Melbourne · verified Sep 18
    Free

Gather with neighbors and families for a community full moon ceremony inspired by the September Harvest Moon, a time traditionally connected to balance, illumination, and reaping the intentions planted earlier in the year. All ages are welcome. The evening starts with free shamanic clearings. Tarot readings are available for purchase. Expect shared drumming and singing, along with a simple craft where participants decorate a small pencil sized stick to use during the ceremony, or bring one already prepared. The circle focuses on release and reflection, with space to set intentions to let go of up to three things that no longer serve. Arriving at the beginning allows time to receive a clearing and get the ceremony stick ready. For comfort, consider bringing a chair, blanket, or outdoor pillow, a rattle or drum if you have one, a personal drink, and any other items that make time outdoors more comfortable. This is a free community event with a love donation option that helps sustain these gatherings. Contributions such as sage, olive oil, or firewood are kindly welcomed.
