Golden Girl Pageant (60+ Years Old)

Part of the City of Avon Park’s Centennial Celebration, this heartfelt pageant honors the women who have shaped the community and highlights the city’s charm, history, and spirit. The experience is designed to be simple, fun, and memorable. Each participant completes a short questionnaire with prompts about life in Avon Park, favorite things about the city, what they wish others knew about it, and a favorite local business. As contestants walk and wave, their answers and personal stories are read aloud for the audience to enjoy. To keep the event comfortable and accessible, there is no stage. Contestants will walk across the floor in front of a beautifully decorated Roaring 20s backdrop and must wear attire from that era. There are no outfit changes, no speaking requirements, no talent segment, and no complicated routines. Participants who need assistance may be accompanied by a helper, who should also dress in Roaring 20s fashion. The official contestant information form is being finalized and will be shared with those interested. This celebration centers on legacy, community, memories, and the women who mean so much to Avon Park.
