Instruction covers managing recoil, refining trigger control and reset, and adapting to the physical and psychological effects of lethal force encounters. Students practice two-handed sighted fire, point shooting, and developing a subconscious sight picture, along with understanding line of sight in dynamic environments. Movement is a core component, including stepping off the line of attack, engaging while advancing or retreating, and prioritizing multiple threats. The curriculum also addresses stress shooting, tactical target engagement, and the difference between emergency and tactical magazine changes, concluding with an introduction to combative shooting methods. The fee is $300, which includes range access, targets, lunch, drinks, and select merchandise. This class is intended for experienced shooters. Participants must be confident operating independently on a static range, familiar with their chosen handgun to a level of unconscious competence, and able to load, unload, and clear basic malfunctions. A minimum of 1,000 rounds must have been fired through the firearm to be used, with at least 500 of those within the previous 12 months. The 13th Annual VNA of Florida Charity Clay Shoot is moving to OK Corral Gun Club in Okeechobee. Marking VNA of Florida’s 50th anniversary, this fundraiser supports the Visiting Nurse Foundation and helps provide indigent care, mobile medical clinics, nursing scholarships, and other community health services. The day includes check in with breakfast, a safety briefing, sporting clays, lunch, and a closing awards presentation with a raffle. Experience the 16th annual Crystal Classic International Sand Sculpting Festival on Siesta Key alongside the Sunset Drum Circle. This barrier island off Sarasota is known for its white quartz sand that stays cool underfoot, creating a striking setting for elaborate sand creations and a weekly percussion gathering that has been a tradition since 1996. Each ticket includes a single People’s Choice token per attendee, issued at entry after tickets are scanned, along with access to designated photo-op sculptures at no additional charge. Tokens are not replaced if lost, and guests who choose not to vote are asked to return their token before leaving rather than taking it home. The festival operates cashless, with the exception of the vendor village, the part tent and the food trucks. The West and East entry gates are limited to advance ticket holders and re-entry. A free trolley connects to Siesta Village, where visitors can explore a variety of restaurants and shops. The drum circle features abundant percussion and lively dancing, with rhythms that seem to hum through the sand and rise into the air.

The performance is guided by the group’s album Inner Light, created in part at Abbey Road Studios, which shapes the show’s creative direction.

The 4th Annual Pelican Yacht Club Turkey Trot 5K welcomes the community for a festive run in support of Jaycee Park and the local running community. Pelican Yacht Club opens its doors to the public for a trot and toast, with drinks and snacks provided at the club. The course showcases South Hutchinson Island as participants pass through eclectic neighborhoods, reach Ocean Boulevard, jog the jetty, and return to the Pelican Yacht Club to finish. The race has sold out for the last two years, and participation is capped at 750.
