Parents can enjoy some time to themselves while kids dive into a Back to School Bash pool party at the Hernando County Family YMCA. Children spend time with peers in a structured, supervised setting focused on safe, splash-filled fun. Participants must be fully potty trained, as staff are not permitted to change diapers or assist in restrooms. Please bring a refillable water bottle, a swimsuit and towel, a change of clothes, and a bag for wet items, and leave inflatables at home. First-time participants will complete a swim test before using the pool or can choose to play on the splash pad. Dinner is provided by Padula's Pizzeria.

Brooksville Main Street brings a high-energy back to school celebration to Hernando Park, transforming the space into an interactive playground filled with music, games, and hands-on creativity. DJ Shalamar keeps the momentum going during a free evening that welcomes all ages and gets kids excited for the first day back. Expect free backpacks while supplies last, a school bus themed relay with other field day challenges, a pencil pull prize board, make-your-own pencil pouches, a freeze dance party, bubbles, temporary tattoo stations, a giant sidewalk chalk area, and a youth wellness zone. Make it a downtown family outing by enjoying nearby restaurants and shops. Parents can bring lawn chairs and blankets to set up a comfortable spot on the grass while kids explore the activity zones. This community celebration is offered at no cost thanks to support from the City of Brooksville as Pinnacle Partner, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office, and Scouting America, Tampa Bay Council.

This family-friendly karaoke night takes place in the outdoor courtyard. Participants can take the mic to sing favorite songs or simply enjoy the performances. Beer and wine will be available. All ages are welcome.

Presented by European Lifestyle Windows, Doors, and Glass Rooms together with Kevin’s Car Show, this gathering welcomes all makes and models, including cars, trucks, jeeps, and motorcycles. A total of 50 awards plus sponsor awards will be presented, with categories such as Best of Show, Manager’s Choice, Long Hauler, Best Hot Rod, Club Participation, Stock, Modified, Import, Best Truck, Best Jeep, and Best Motorcycle. Participants may enter the judged competition for $25 or display a vehicle without judging for $10, and vendor spaces are available for $25. Bring your little one for parent-and-child swim lessons designed for babies and toddlers ages 6 to 36 months. The program focuses on water enrichment and aquatic readiness, with instructor-guided activities that help parents interact with their child in the water. Lessons also introduce early basics for swim skills, such as blowing bubbles, jumping in, and playing games, setting the stage for independent swim lessons later on.

This swim lessons program for kids ages 3 to 5 (Stage 1, 2, and 3) focuses on building early water confidence and core aquatic skills. In Stage 1, kids learn water acclimation and safe exits, and in Stage 2 they work on body control, directional changes, and forward movement. Stage 3 emphasizes longer distances to swim toward safety, plus rhythmic breathing and coordinated arm and leg action. Children are evaluated during the first lesson to determine the appropriate stage. Kids should come in a swimsuit, and swim diapers are required if not fully potty trained. Lessons meet on Mondays and Wednesdays during the program period.
