This is the late show, and the early show is ticketed separately on a different event page. Jim Lauderdale is a leading voice in American roots music and will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2025. He is set to release his 38th and 39th albums in 2026, Country Super Hits Volume 2 and a bluegrass collection titled The Birds Know. His major-label debut, Planet of Love, arrived in 1991 and led to international touring while establishing him among Music Row’s top songwriters. His songs have been recorded by George Strait, Patty Loveless, George Jones, the Chicks, Old Crow Medicine Show, Lucinda Williams, Charley Crockett, Dave Edmunds, Solomon Burke, and others. From 2004 to 2013 he created six albums with Grateful Dead songwriter Robert Hunter, and his collaborators also include Buddy Miller, Elvis Costello, Donna the Buffalo, North Mississippi Allstars, Po’Ramblin’ Boys, and Ralph Stanley. Honors include a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association in 2016 and two Grammys for Best Bluegrass Album. The host is Shawn Kyle, founder of Songwriter Club, a multiple Best of the Bay Award winner and 14-time SXSW Austin official showcasing artist, known for work in the early 2000s Americana revival and the Psychedelic Rock and Garage revival of the 2010s, with a troubadour-based EP planned for late 2026.

The night starts with beginner lessons in both spaces, featuring West Coast Swing with Jae and Lyla and Country Swing with Trent and Lily. It continues with progressive classes that build on those fundamentals, then wraps up with a crossover social where dancers can blend styles, practice new moves, and connect on the floor. Expect dedicated WCS and Country instruction from experienced teachers in a welcoming, beginner friendly environment. No partner is required, and all are invited to enjoy a music mix that includes West Coast Swing, Country, and Fusion. The focus is growth, connection, and dancing together.
