    11141 US Highway 19 N, Clearwater · verified Sep 13
    See details

District Dance Academy presents a progressive West Coast Swing training series for dancers seeking more than single-night pattern classes. Over six weeks, participants train together with consistent coaching from Nik and Lily, using repetition, drills, and real social dance application to build solid fundamentals, smoother connection, greater confidence, and a deeper grasp of the dance. Each series concentrates on a single core concept or movement family instead of stacking lots of new material in one session, which supports meaningful, lasting improvement. Drop-in attendance is not offered, and the curriculum progresses week to week with the same group to create a steady learning environment. Every meeting includes an intensive class followed by guided practice and social dancing, giving dancers the chance to apply new skills right away. Enrollment is capped to keep coach-to-dancer ratios low and to allow for personalized feedback. The fee for one six-week series is $120, and registration is for the full course to support collective growth.

Opening Reception for Shapeshifter: New and Select Works by Palehorse

Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Ave, St Petersburg · verified Sep 13
    See details

An opening reception introduces Shapeshifter, a presentation of new and selected works by Palehorse, the St. Petersburg multidisciplinary artist also known as Chris Parks. The exhibition gathers two decades of exploration while unveiling a new phase in his evolution. It traces his journey from high profile commercial illustration to studio and mural practice rooted in a search for sacred connection. The collection invokes gods, guardians and totems as mirrors for self inquiry, intertwining archetypes, sigils, symbols and sacred geometry. Within the exhibition, earlier modes are reimagined through rock posters, skateboard graphics, wrestling iconography and apparel design. The show also brings to life collaborations long imagined with Ben Venom, Morning Breath Inc, Masked Republic, Jon Stine and Bryan Nichols. Palehorse is recognized for meticulous line work, vivid color and layered symbolism across murals, installations, identity and branding, print and apparel. His commissions include National Geographic, Nike, FX, Under Armour, PepsiCo and Hasbro, with international exhibitions that have included the Dalí Museum. He has created official posters for Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Jimi Hendrix and Rush. His practice extends into public space and popular culture, from co-founding the SHINE St. Petersburg Mural Festival to crafting masked wrestling personas seen in AEW and CMLL. Current work centers on personal studio projects, an original line of clothing and products, and Kriya Yoga, and he leads Seekers of the Eternal, a weekly meditation gathering.
