Eastvalley Elementary School40k Meta Maelstrom 2026 Casual Event
A three round, 1v1, 2000 point singles showdown built for relaxed play invites players to bring a Strike Force list crafted from one faction and one detachment. To spotlight options that saw less table time in 10th edition, many of the strongest detachments are not in use, and the organizer provides a detailed list of what is allowed for each army. Custom Character creation from The Maelstrom: Crucible of Champions is in play, limited to one per list, and every custom character requires approval from the tournament organizer. These characters should be represented on the model in a way that reflects their gear and abilities with a reasonable effort toward clarity. The event uses Games Workshop missions and terrain layouts, with specific missions revealed on the day. Expect three rounds with a lunch break. Painting is not required, though it is encouraged. All models must be on the current official base size for their kits, and anything on the wrong base will be removed. Rules and point updates released ahead of the event are intended to be valid, while last minute FAQs and dataslate changes may be reviewed individually. Pairings prioritize wins, then win path, then random, and final standings are determined by wins, then sportsmanship, then points. Army lists are submitted through Best Coast Pairings in advance, and prepayment is required. Terrain uses the GW tournament companion layouts. Every feature on the table counts as a ruin, and first floors block line of sight. Small 4x6 footprints count as 2 inches tall, so units can move over them but must fully clear terrain pieces that sit on top. Fighting through ruins follows rules as written, which means careful spacing can prevent charges through walls. Terrain footprints match GW layouts, although the exact size of the ruins placed on them may vary. Prizes include awards for first, second, and third place, along with Favorite Opponent, Best Painted Army, Coolest Character, and Favorite List. A waitlist opens when capacity is reached, and the organizer can be reached on Discord under Dingbat or by email at d.purcell222@gmail.com for questions, approvals, or to be added. Proxies and conversions are generally fine if they are the correct size and make weapon options clear to opponents, and players are encouraged to ask in advance if uncertain. Requests to add a detachment would apply to everyone rather than granting individual exceptions. The allowed list is largely settled, built from event data, community input, and organizer judgment, and anyone with concerns is welcome to discuss it. Deathwatch has special considerations due to its single powerful detachment, so players for that faction should coordinate with the organizer.

The Lavender BookshopDice Throne Tournament
Sharpen your skills for a Swiss-style Dice Throne tournament that uses the Bring 3, Ban 1 format. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the start, since promo distribution follows the official ranked schedule. Players who arrive after matches have started will be disqualified, so punctuality is important. Swiss pairings scale with attendance, with three rounds for 5 to 8 players, four for 9 to 23, five for 24 to 47, and six for 48 to 64. Scoring awards three points for a win, one for a tie, and zero for a loss, and the player with the most points at the end takes the top spot. Each participant must bring three personal heroes that remain locked for the entire event. Every round is a single game on a 30 minute clock, and ties are possible. Prepare by removing all Promo and Mythic cards, confirming your heroes are tournament legal with current leaflets, building decks with only the standard cards in the leaflet-listed quantities with no duplicates, and taking the Buh, Bye instant action card out of character decks. A video overview of Bring 3, Ban 1 is referenced for preparation. At the start of each round, both players roll once to decide who bans first and roll again to determine who takes the first turn. The high roll in the first roll chooses to ban first or second, removing one of the opponent’s three heroes. The high roll in the second roll either takes the first turn and selects a hero or gives first turn and hero selection to the opponent. Track who starts each game. The starting player skips the income phase. When time is called, continue only until both players have taken an equal number of turns, then end the game immediately. Higher remaining health determines the winner, and equal health is a tie. Tiebreakers are applied in order using head to head results, the Median Buchholtz system, then health differential. Tournament-legal heroes include Dice Throne Season One Rerolled and the latest printing of Season One, featuring Barbarian, Moon Elf, Pyromancer, Shadow Thief, Monk, Paladin, Ninja, and Treant. Season Two heroes are eligible, including Samurai, Gunslinger, Tactician, Huntress, Artificer, Cursed Pirate, Seraph, and Vampire Lord, and updated leaflets are required for Tactician, Huntress, and Vampire Lord. Marvel Dice Throne heroes are allowed, including Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Thor, Miles Morales Spider Man, Loki, Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow, with updated leaflets required for Thor and Miles Morales. Santa vs Krampus is permitted. Marvel X Men heroes are permitted, including Wolverine, Storm, Iceman, Psylocke, Rogue, Jean Grey or Dark Phoenix, Cyclops, and Gambit. Deadpool is permitted. Outcast heroes Pale Lady, Raveness, Necromancer, and Headless Horseman are permitted. Vanguard heroes Forgemaster, Duelist, Sun Elf, and Druid are permitted. The Alchemist is also eligible. The original six hero box print run from Mind Bottling Games or Roxley Games is not legal. Mythic cards and any card with a Promo banner are not allowed. Dice Throne Adventures content is excluded. The Buh, Bye instant action card is not permitted. Optional accessories are welcome at the discretion of judges or organizers, including playmats, dice trays, dice towers, Age-themed alternate art cards, and Twice as Wild Worthy cards. Results count toward ranked leaderboards. Players earn points based on placement, national and regional standings reflect each participant’s best three finishes, and players may enter multiple events with only their top three results counted.

Phoenixes Ages (4-7)
Geared toward the Phoenixes, this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class helps young children lay a foundation that reaches far beyond the mat. Through simple techniques and steady practice, participants discover what they can do as challenging skills become manageable over time and real confidence grows. Training emphasizes strategic thinking under pressure, much like a chess match, so problem solving carries into school and everyday moments. Movement patterns such as shrimping, bridging, and rolling build balance, coordination, and body control during important developmental years. The environment centers on respect for coaches, teammates, and self, along with listening, following direction, and working hard when things feel tough. Foundational self-defense is taught in a controlled, safety-focused setting so kids learn to stay calm, manage situations, and avoid panic. Inspired by the image of a phoenix rising, students treat stumbles as part of learning... they get back up, try again, and become stronger. Along the way they develop resilience, friendships, and a mindset that supports them in life as well as in training.
40k Narrative Campaign: The Conquering of N'Sab
The Conquering of N'Sab is a 40k narrative campaign that spans three months. This is a map based format, and you must be present on Campaign Days in order to advance your territory. Participation is capped at 12 people per Campaign Day. The entry fee is $5 each night and will be collected that night, similar to Friday Night Fights.
Rise Up's Jr class
Designed for the junior age group, this Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class marks the stage where training really comes together. Students take on more responsibility, dive into deeper learning, and rise to bigger challenges in a setting that supports growth. Participants refine practical skills by exploring detailed techniques and linking movements with purpose. They also begin to grasp why techniques work, not just how to perform them. Focus and discipline are central, with kids learning to listen carefully, apply feedback, and stay mentally present, habits that help both on the mats and in everyday life. As the training intensity increases, they build resilience and a strong work ethic by meeting obstacles, pushing through them, and discovering what they can achieve. The environment encourages leadership and teamwork, with many juniors setting a positive example for younger students, helping partners, and practicing the basics of leading within the gym. As abilities grow, so does confidence, and the lessons gained here carry into school, friendships, and daily routines. The class helps turn discipline into lasting habits, techniques into real skill, and steady effort into self-belief.
Advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class
This advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class is built to elevate skills on the mat. Training alternates between Gi and No-Gi depending on the day, helping participants develop a complete, adaptable game. The session starts with flow drilling that emphasizes rhythm, movement, and linking techniques. This portion builds timing and smooth transitions, and allows newer practitioners to move between positions without full resistance. The second half increases the intensity with live rolling and targeted positional rounds. Students apply what they practiced in realistic scenarios, refine specific situations, and build confidence under pressure. Newer athletes can accelerate learning by seeing techniques in motion, gain comfort in various positions, and develop reactions more quickly than with static reps, which helps connect fundamentals to live training. Experienced grapplers sharpen transitions and timing, troubleshoot details under live conditions, enhance conditioning and mental endurance, and continue expanding their overall game. All skill levels are welcome, with a higher pace than a fundamentals class. The structure is designed to help everyone progress and get the most out of each round.

The format gives readers a chance to practice and refine their skills while offering a helpful service to the community. The focus is casual connection and shared learning. Expect time to meet fellow readers, trade techniques and interpretations, try simple exercises, explore spreads and philosophy, show and tell favorite decks, and even test a deck that is new to you. Conversations often include recommended books, blogs, and podcasts, and there is space to ask questions about any part of your practice that feels challenging. This is not a religious or spiritual group and people of all beliefs are welcome, the emphasis stays on the cards. It is not a class or lecture, everyone contributes their own perspective. Judgment and dogma are out of place. No paid services are permitted, all readings offered here are free. Attendance is flexible, arrive when it works for you and stay as long as you like. Bring curiosity and enthusiasm, your own decks if you have them, and something to take notes with. Extra decks are available to borrow if needed.
Adult Fundamentals Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu class
This adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals class introduces the art through essential movements and techniques taught step by step with clear explanations. The pace is deliberate to promote safety, understanding, and confidence, so no prior experience or high level of fitness is required. Training develops strength, endurance, and mobility over time while covering core skills such as positioning, control, escapes, and efficient movement, allowing participants to learn at a comfortable pace. High school athletes in football or wrestling can use this training to improve balance and body control, sharpen leverage and positional awareness, build grip strength and core stability, feel more prepared in scrambles and heavy contact, and boost conditioning and mental toughness. Adults can expect practical self-defense education, stress relief after the workday, increased confidence and discipline, and improved fitness within a supportive environment. Taking the first step is often the toughest part, and everyone begins from the same starting point.

Mount Paran Christian SchoolDirt Roads and Footpaths
Rooted in images of back roads and age-old walking trails, this concert traces how travel shapes the heart. Dr. Stanley Roberts recalls a childhood on a South Georgia dirt road, where daily rhythms, care for the land, and quiet miles left a lasting imprint. Years later he explored the footpaths of England’s Lake District, moving past fields, villages, old stone walls, and secluded gardens, with each step prompting reflection and wonder. These routes become lessons about living. Some days are for roaming and savoring unexpected turns and the music of the world. Other days call for tending the path, offering guidance and leaving it clearer for those who follow. The program reflects this inner journey, featuring John Corigliano’s setting of Dylan Thomas’s Fern Hill, which evokes the fleeting glow of youth and memory. Additional pieces illuminate the landscapes, trials, and joys of the human journey, drawing listeners together in a shared passage along life’s winding ways.
