A Grownup and Me music program developed by a board-certified music therapist invites children of all ages and abilities to make music together. Families are welcome to participate as a group, and siblings, grandparents, and other relatives are encouraged to attend. The class nurtures creativity through rhythm, builds social skills and inclusion through shared musical play with neurotypical and neurodiverse peers, and uses singing to support language development. Playing instruments helps strengthen motor skills, musical engagement stimulates cognitive growth, and the experience fosters bonding between caregivers and children. Mini Melodies offers a playful, goal-focused music class at GiGi's Playhouse Atlanta for children from birth to age five with Down syndrome. Themes and activity details are shared on Facebook and Instagram stories. A parent or guardian must stay with each child during the program. The series runs seasonally and is weather dependent. After the activities, families can enjoy lunch, snacks, or sweet treats at kid-friendly restaurants and visit Piggy Jo’s, a children’s gift and clothing boutique. By attending, participants consent to the use of their likeness in photos or video captured on site, and Halcyon may use this media for future publicity without compensation.

Now in its 14th year for 2026, Food Truck Alley showcases live music alongside a lineup of top food trucks. Attendees can enjoy the performances while ordering from the trucks.

Avenue Live fills The Plaza at Avenue East Cobb with performances by local artists, creating an easygoing night of music. Attendees are welcome to bring tailgate chairs for seating and can pair the show with takeout from the on site restaurants. Coolers and outside beverages are not allowed. For everyone’s safety and comfort, please follow Plaza guidelines that prohibit throwing balls and the use of scooters or bikes, and keep children off the stage at all times. Proceeds from Pixel Putt strengthen children’s education at the museum by funding technology for Interactive Digital Tours, laptops for coding workshops, admission support for Title I school field trips, and the expansion of educational programs and opportunities. Since opening in 2019, the museum’s educational reach has grown substantially, including in 2025 when more than 3,500 students from over 17 Georgia counties and three states participated, along with 1,000 students from 20 Title I schools and 150 scouts. Admission or sponsorship helps provide the museum’s education department with essential resources to inspire the next generation of innovators. Each ticket includes 18 holes of putt putt, brunch, and museum admission, with tickets available online or at the Mimms Museum Gift Shop.
