Run For Love 5K/1 Mile Fun Run

Celebrating its 37th year, the Run For Love 5K and one mile fun run is a longstanding community tradition presented by the Tift County Cross Country Teams. Runners, families, and supporters come together for a day that highlights healthy living, connection, and Blue Devil spirit at ABAC’s Red Hill Athletic Complex in Tifton. Race day features check-in, a timed 5K, a one mile fun run, and an awards ceremony. In the 5K, awards are given to the overall male and female winners as well as the masters winner, along with the top three males and females in five year age groups. The one mile fun run recognizes overall male and female winners, and all other participants receive a participation medal. Proceeds benefit the Tift County Cross Country team by helping provide team dinners, custom shirts, race prizes, gear, letterman jackets, and special gifts for seniors and eighth grade athletes. Every step helps fuel the program and creates lasting memories for the student-athletes.

Hazard Mitigation Plan Public Hearing

The Tift County Office of Emergency Management will hold a public hearing to receive input on the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan Update. The update focuses on reducing the impact of future disasters by strengthening resilience for residents, businesses, property owners, critical infrastructure operators, and local governments throughout Tift County and the cities of Tifton, Omega, and Ty Ty. The hearing will take place at the Charles Kent Admin Building in Tifton. Meetings of the Tift County Board of Commissioners and the city councils of Tifton, Omega, and Ty Ty are open to the public.

Hosted at Dirt Road Ministry, this three-hour seminar focuses on practical strategies for recognizing and responding to an active attacker. Participants receive a clear survival plan and learn how to identify danger early through situational awareness and basic threat assessment. The training explores current patterns surrounding active shooter incidents, ways to strengthen personal and organizational readiness through consistent practice, and how to build the mindset needed to act under pressure. 2026 Maule & All Homecoming Fly-In

This homecoming fly-in at Maule Air, Inc. in Moultrie, GA marks 64 years of Maule aircraft production and 85 years of Maule Aviation Products. Pilots flying any type of aircraft are welcome, and the gathering brings together friends and aviation enthusiasts from across the country and around the world. Plans include factory tours, flight demonstrations and contests such as short takeoff and landing and a flour drop, informative seminars and Q&A sessions with Maule test pilots and mechanics, a special guest speaker, meals in the hangar, live music and dancing at the Seaplane Opry House, and a campsite bonfire when weather allows. Camping beside aircraft on the grass next to the factory is available, and nearby lodging options include Hampton Inn, Moultrie at (229) 616-7777 and Holiday Inn Express, Moultrie at (229) 890-9900. Operational notes for those flying in include use of Runway 14/32 for event operations, with the grass strip by Lake Maule potentially available depending on conditions. There is no on-field fuel at KMUL, and a fuel truck is planned for a limited window. The schedule starts with an arrival day, builds to a full day of activities with awards and trophies for demonstration category winners, then concludes with a departure day that features a continental breakfast. A local church service is also available at Lifespring Community Church near KMUL. The event has been expanded by one day, with more details to be added as the event approaches.
