District Nights, August 6th

District Nights brings live music and community fun to the Downtown District in O’Fallon. The main stage spotlights the Scott Keller Band with guest performers, while the second stage features Thursday’s Hazy. A car cruise-in, sponsored and hosted by Newbold, adds to the festivities. Admission is free. Event drink cups are available to purchase for $5 and can be refilled by participating Downtown District merchants, with beverage prices varying by selection. Outside food and drinks are not allowed, including personal cups and water bottles. Free water stations are set up throughout the event area to help everyone stay hydrated. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs along with family and friends. Funds raised at the event support Downtown District activities. Dream Home Charities presents its Annual Glo Bingo Fundraiser at Firemen's Hall. Participants begin one by one in the O’Fallon Community Pool, ride through the rolling hills north of O’Fallon, then finish on a quick, flat run. A finish line breakfast includes pancakes, bacon, and fresh fruit. Gary and Cathy Mueller, former proprietors of the O’Fallon Egg-and-I and founders of the Jennifer Mueller Memorial Foundation, will be serving their signature pancakes, with berries, fruit, and toppings provided by North Bay Produce and bacon from Le Ono Restaurant in O’Fallon. All racers are included in the breakfast, and family and friends may participate through a breakfast-only registration. A portion of race entry fees and all breakfast-only proceeds benefit the Jennifer Mueller Memorial Foundation Fund in memory of Jenn Mueller, who passed from cancer in 2018. Those who register by the posted cutoff receive a custom O’Town Hustle tee and a 2026 O’Town Hustle finisher medal. A focused workshop in the DC Serrada Escrima system presents proven, pressure-tested combatives for practical use. Training features Sr. Grand Master D and offers direct transmission from one of the remaining first-generation Cabales students. Participants will work through hands-only tactics with rapid entries and close-range striking, precision trapping with control methods such as arm bars and joint locks, and structure-based management of an opponent. Footwork and positioning are emphasized to gain angles and move counteroffensively. Weapons modules address disarms against active stick attacks, along with blade and single-stick principles for both offense and defense. Instruction ties these elements together so the Serrada flow can be applied across multiple ranges and varying threat levels. Attendance is limited to support high-quality coaching and individual correction, and practitioners of all experience levels are welcome. This public meet, presented by ThicWhipsMidwest Car Club and Scott AFB Car Club, is hosted at the Discount Tire location in O’Fallon, IL. It welcomes every kind of enthusiast and vehicle, from custom builds to daily drivers. More than 75 parking spaces are reserved, with additional parking next door at Smoothie King if needed. Smoothie King in O’Fallon is partnering with the gathering and will offer attendee discounts at that location. The event is approved by the Discount Tire staff, and participants are expected to follow lot attendant instructions, keep the area clean, and show respect for others and the venue. Excessive revving, burnouts, hard launches, and littering are prohibited. Rule violations can result in immediate removal and bans from future meets. The emphasis is on community, respectful conduct, and celebrating Midwest car culture.

Collinsville’s annual parade features a route that begins on Main Street at Hesperia, continues east along Main Street, turns north on Seminary, then heads west on Clay Street and finishes back at Hesperia. There is no official theme this year, giving participants complete creative freedom. Applications for businesses and community groups to participate are available through the ticket link. Spectators can spread out along Clay Street for extra room while enjoying the procession.

Collinsville’s long-running Italian Fest celebrates the community’s Italian culture and heritage with a family friendly atmosphere along Main Street in Uptown Collinsville. Admission is free, and live music is included. As part of the festivities, the Italian Fest Committee and Final Lap Race Management present a 5K and a Kids Dash. The 5K features a smooth, fast out-and-back route that finishes on Main Street. After the 5K, children 10 and under can take part in an approximately quarter-mile out-and-back dash on Main Street, and every child receives a finisher medal. Chip timing is handled by Final Lap Race Management. Awards recognize the top three overall male and female finishers, plus the top three in each age group: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over. Bib and shirt pickup is available at the festival site in advance, with additional pickup on race day.

2026 Belleville Main Street Marathon and Half Marathon

The 10th anniversary of the Belleville Main Street Marathon highlights a milestone year, with the Half Marathon carrying the Road Runners Club of America Illinois State Championship designation. Participants run America’s longest Main Street through historic Belleville, Illinois, with additional city roads on both courses. The full marathon is a USTAF-certified Boston Marathon qualifier and includes about ten miles on a paved trail. Anniversary perks include bonus swag, and the first 900 registrants receive a pair of Goodr sunglasses. All registrants receive an everything T-shirt and a finisher’s medal. After the finish, celebrations feature pizza from Bennie’s Pizza Pub, assorted snacks, a special beer from Belleville’s Shoehorn Brewing for those ages 21 and older, and a DJ to keep the atmosphere festive. This nonprofit event is organized by volunteers from the Belleville Running Club and Toolen’s Running Start, with proceeds reinvested in the community, including support for a local food pantry, the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, and a college scholarship fund for Belleville high school students. From the 2025 race, $20,000 was donated to these causes.

Darts for Kids marks its 15th anniversary with a $5,000 added darts tournament at Madison County Firemen's Hall, benefiting children with medical needs. The nonprofit has assisted 187 families through community support. Entry to the hall is $25 and includes a Femas-catered dinner, soda, and ten kegs of beer, followed by a cash bar. Pre-registration for morning events is available online. Morning competitions cost $40 per team and include $20 in green fees. These are bring-your-own doubles with $1,000 added to each division. Men’s AA is for players at 32 PPD and above or by known ability, played as 501 and cricket, double in and double out, best of five, with a four-freeze rule. Men’s A covers 26.0 to 31.9 PPD and features 501, cricket, and choice, best of three with the freeze rule. Men’s B is 25.9 PPD and below and plays 501 freeze with $1,000 added. The Women’s open runs as 501 with the freeze rule and $1,000 added. A free youth event is also part of the program. Evening events are limited to players who are no longer in the morning brackets, and participants may enter only one. Options include a blind draw at $15 per player with $5 toward green fees, using 701, cricket, and choice in best-of-three sets on both sides with $500 added, or Mixed Trips that allows one AA player per team at $45 with $10 toward green fees, where women throw first and play 701 open in, open out, best of three on both sides with $500 added. A pre-tournament hosted by Top Shooters takes place in advance of the main day. PIB (Pferde in Balance) Clinic with Carolin Moldenhauer

Carolin Moldenhauer brings her Pferde in Balance approach to Illinois for Clinic II at Deanna Preis Horsemanship at Shade Tree Stables. This chapter continues the journey begun in Clinic I, focusing on staying on course through integration, flow, and loopy training. The emphasis is on working with what emerges over time while preserving connection, clarity, and comfort between horse and human. Participants work with their own horses and receive in-person coaching that turns training theory into practice and addresses individual challenges. The aim is to outline clear, logical steps that support a horse mentally, physically, and emotionally, giving riders confidence to carry the work forward at home. Spectators can observe the development of each horse and rider as they are guided through the exercises. Topics include slipping in and out of exercises with feel, applying touch-and-go and loopy training ideas, advancing without drilling or holding too long, and helping horses remain at ease while developing greater self-carriage and responsibility. The clinic builds timing and flow, and offers practical ways to find balance again and again. An anticipated structure features a welcome followed by a series of 30 minute participant lessons and a midday theory talk on the first day. The second day typically opens with a discussion session, continues with 45 minute lessons, includes a lunch Q&A, then wraps up with further coaching. Clinic II can be taken on its own and is especially meaningful as part of the broader arc that includes Clinic I.
