SOLD OUT! Sept 30th - 5 Bines Chunky Knit Blanket Workshop

Belvidere, IL · verified Sep 6
    See details

Settle into a relaxed, hands-on workshop that pairs cozy blanket making with tasty drinks and food. Beginners and experienced knitters are welcome. No needles are required, because the blanket is created with hand knitting. Everyone finishes with a soft blanket tucked into a blanket bag and a practical new skill. Afterward, participants receive emailed instructions and yarn buying tips for future projects. Blankets typically begin as lap size and often grow to full body coverage. You can choose a looser or tighter knit, so finished sizes vary. The tightest approach creates a blanket around 45 by 42 inches, and most turn out larger. Advance registration is required and seating is limited on a first come, first served basis. Two pricing options are available. The $65 option lets participants choose from yarn colors brought to the workshop. The $85 option allows colors to be selected in advance and uses a premium, softer, thicker yarn that tends to hide imperfections and offers many color choices. After registering for the $85 option, an email arrives about four weeks beforehand to choose one or two colors. Registration for the $85 option closes four weeks prior if not sold out, and registration for the $65 option closes two weeks prior if not sold out. Ages 12 and up can work on a blanket independently. An optional add on is available for anyone who wants the social experience without the knitting. For an additional $35 after registering for the workshop, the blanket will be completed and ready at the workshop. Please purchase this add on at least two weeks beforehand. It is available only with an $85 registration. For last minute changes such as illness or injury, the organizer may be able to accommodate if there is time.
