Mike & Joe performs modern rock hits from the 1990s through today with an exceptional live sound. Admission is free.

A monthly jazz jam in the northwest suburbs, hosted by drummer Mike Petrie, open to all jazz instrumentalists and vocalists. A setlist and signup sheet are available online and on the Madcats Jazz Jam Facebook page, which also features photos and videos from previous events. There is no cover.

Angel Gown Studio offers volunteer work sessions focused on creating and preparing angel gowns. Experienced seamstresses with intermediate or higher skills are asked to bring a portable sewing machine to assist with garment construction. There is also plenty to do for those who do not sew, such as tracing and cutting pattern pieces, ironing fabric, assembling sewing kits, cutting ribbon, deconstructing wedding dresses, prepacking gowns for delivery, checking in donated dresses, and photographing both donations and finished gowns. A short break is included with bottled water and snacks provided, and participants may bring their own lunch. Volunteers may stay for the entire session or attend for part of it.

Create welcoming messages and drawings outside the school to kick off the new school year. Chalk will be provided.

Pop-In & Play Neighborhood Nights bring lively fun to neighborhood parks with the Palatine Park District. Families can stroll over and enjoy free activities like music, sports, games, and crafts, plus giveaways while supplies last. Each evening is tailored to the park and its surroundings, so every stop offers a slightly different experience. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is not required.

Test your knowledge at a live trivia night at Mount Prospect Public House. It is free to play, and the top teams earn prizes. Pre-game clues are available to those who register in advance, offering a helpful boost before the questions begin.

Madcats hosts a relaxed bingo night. Participation is free, and each player receives one card good for ten games. Prizes are up for grabs throughout the session.

Part of the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, this free, outdoor, all-ages performance brings Chicago-based tribute act The Disco Circus to Harmony Park in Arlington Heights. Blending the excitement of a three-ring spectacle with the feel-good grooves of 1970s disco and funk, the show features a trio of lead vocalists, two women and one man, backed by a tight band on drums, bass, guitar, percussion, and horns. Built around members of Chicago’s Libido Funk Circus and expanded with additional players, refreshed staging, and bold retro attire, The Disco Circus delivers a high-energy throwback filled with sparkle and classic dance-floor spirit.

A welcoming meetup for parents with babies up to six months old offers space to connect with other new parents, trade experiences, and receive guidance from Lindsay Dohse, the Village’s nursing supervisor. The program is free and drop in, and sessions are held at Arlington Heights Memorial Library.

Celebrate vintage style and automotive history at a community car show featuring classic vehicles, live entertainment, food, and prizes. Admission is free for attendees. Owners of classic cars can participate for a $10 entry fee. The Arlington Heights Senior Center, Inc. Foundation is a 501c3 that raises funds for the eight agencies of the Arlington Heights Senior Center in support of adults aged 55 and older. Browse a curated open air market featuring local vendors with vintage clothing, accessories, furniture, home decor, and more. The event takes place in the front parking lot of Durty Nellie’s, and the Beer Garden is available for refreshments while you shop. Admission is free, it is family friendly, and dogs are welcome, including in the Beer Garden. Free parking is available in the parking garage, and it is steps from Metra and the Palatine Farmers Market. This market returns every third Saturday from May through October.
