I Love You Because is a contemporary romantic comedy musical about the messiness of modern dating. Mismatched singles navigate lingering exes, uncomfortable intimate moments, and a run of lackluster coffee dates as they discover that unlikely pairings can work. With book and lyrics by Ryan Cunningham and music by Joshua Salzman, alongside orchestrations by Larry Hochman and direction by Scott Shallenbarger, the production captures the spirit of a rom-com on stage. Drawing inspiration from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, it delivers a feel-good story of love emerging in unexpected ways.

Zydeco Voodoo brings New Orleans rhythms and a touch of Mardi Gras flair to the 56 Music Fix in Mount Prospect, performing under the large outdoor party tent at Mrs. P & Me. Expect an interactive set, with tambourines, maracas, and rubboards available so the crowd can join the groove. The 56 Music Fix is a three day, village wide celebration of live music and art along with food, featuring regional acts of many styles performing throughout Mount Prospect’s bars, restaurants, and shops over one summer weekend. Zydeco Voodoo is part of the lineup for this annual community festival.

Game Night Live brings R0CK'N Bingo with Rockstar Trivia to Pinstripes Northbrook, turning the classic game into a music driven experience where songs replace numbers and the playlist drives the action. The setlist ranges from classic rock and oldies to hip hop, country, and memorable movie and TV themes. Each card is uniquely built to keep the pace quick and the outcome unpredictable. When the music quiets, Rockstar Trivia takes over with eight high energy questions that test your brain and fire up the room. Bingo, music, and trivia blend into a loud, stage worthy showdown.

Part of the Sounds of Summer Concert Series, this free, outdoor, all-ages performance brings Chicago-based tribute act The Disco Circus to Harmony Park in Arlington Heights. Blending the excitement of a three-ring spectacle with the feel-good grooves of 1970s disco and funk, the show features a trio of lead vocalists, two women and one man, backed by a tight band on drums, bass, guitar, percussion, and horns. Built around members of Chicago’s Libido Funk Circus and expanded with additional players, refreshed staging, and bold retro attire, The Disco Circus delivers a high-energy throwback filled with sparkle and classic dance-floor spirit.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Sounds of Summer, a season of live music presented by The Schwabe Group at Compass Real Estate. Concerts are hosted at Harmony Park in downtown Arlington Heights, and this week’s event is supported by Signature Sponsor Carrie Goodman and Mark East of @properties.

Free Fallin brings a faithful Tom Petty concert experience to the stage, the result of nearly two decades of international touring and refinement. This accomplished band presents a professional, entertaining production that mirrors the sound and look of a Petty show, complete with era-appropriate instruments and wardrobe. The set showcases Tom Petty’s biggest songs, including Refugee, Here Comes My Girl, Mary Jane’s Last Dance, and more. Continuing to honor Petty’s legacy since his passing in 2017, the performance invites fans to sing along to the hits they know and love.

The Knock Offs bring 90s favorites plus selections from later years to Madcats for a high-energy night that keeps the party in full swing. There is a $5 cover.

A benefit concert at Amvets Post 66 brings live music together in support of Amvets Post 66 and the Inspire Through Flowers organization. The lineup includes a solo set and a performance by SideShowMen, offering an uplifting experience centered on these causes.

Second Hand Soul Band brings a mix of Motown, funk, and soul to the spacious outdoor area at Des Plaines Elks Lodge #1526. The lodge is a members-only club, yet it is open to the public on Saturday nights. Nonmembers are asked to make a $5 donation that supports the lodge’s charitable work for veterans, seniors, and children and does not go to the band. Amenities include plenty of parking, a full restaurant, and gaming.

Leo Fron performs live at Moretti’s Wheeling, a Chicago-born, family-run restaurant group that began on the northwest side in 1992 and has since expanded to thirteen locations across the metro area. The menu blends time-honored family recipes with newer trends and local favorites, all prepared to order with fresh ingredients. Its pizza is regularly recognized as Best Pizza in the Daily Herald Best of the Best, and the tavern style thin crust and deep dish pan varieties are signatures.

The 77 Experience brings the spirit of 1977 to life with a high energy performance that blends rock roots with a wide range of styles. The band recreates the era’s signature hits with care, surrounding the music with video projections that spotlight period commercials, movie previews, classic moments from Johnny Carson, laugh-out-loud Saturday Night Live sketches, noteworthy headlines, and other pop culture highlights from that year. The result is an immersive trip through 1977 where music, comedy, and shared memories come together.
