Explore the Elmhurst Farmers Market, where more than 40 vendors offer just-picked produce, specialty pantry staples, artisanal foods, and ready-to-eat fare from food trucks. Pastimes hosts a free Cookie Run TCG open play session where players can drop in for casual games. Anyone who signs in at the event receives a Cookie Run Promotion Pack as a participation bonus.

A car show will take place at Green Meadow Shopping Center in spaces along Lake Street. Admission is free. Handicapped parking is available at Village Hall. The Schaumburg Farmers Market is set in the Trickster Cultural Center parking lot within Schaumburg Town Square. Local growers and makers present a wide assortment, including fruits and vegetables, organic options and microgreens, pasture-raised meats, cheeses, flowers, plants and treats for dogs. Visitors will also find knife sharpening available on site and handmade body care items. Food vendors serve pizza, breakfast sandwiches, empanadas, pierogies and crepes, along with drinks and sweets such as lemonade, kettle corn, coffee and Italian ice. For safety and comfort, pets are not allowed, and bicycles, roller skates, skateboards and scooters should remain outside the market area.

The Throwbacks bring a live set of 1950s and 1960s hits to Mount Prospect, with plenty of dance-friendly classics. There is no admission charge, and all are welcome.

Celebrate the final Music on Maple Street concert of the summer as Dawn Xiana Moon performs a mix of folk, pop, jazz, and traditional Chinese music at the Bill Mueller Memorial Gazebo. Bring a blanket or chair, pack a picnic, or grab a treat from Dairy Queen. This concert is free, and registration is appreciated.

Part of Schaumburg’s free outdoor Summer Breeze concert series held on select Saturdays in July and August, this performance takes place on the grounds of the Al Larson Cultural Center and features Shining Star, a nine-piece group honoring the music of Earth, Wind & Fire. The Studio welcomes volunteers for a variety of projects that support the creation and delivery of angel gowns. Those with intermediate or higher sewing experience can learn to sew angel gowns and are asked to bring a portable sewing machine. Anyone who does not sew can lend a hand by tracing and cutting pattern pieces, assembling sewing kits, trimming ribbon to length, carefully deconstructing wedding dresses, preparing angel gowns for delivery, checking in donated wedding dresses, and photographing gowns and finished pieces. There is a break around midday with bottled water and snacks provided, and bringing a personal lunch is welcome. Participation is flexible, whether staying for the full session or stopping in for a shorter visit.
