Students from Bach to Rock Northbrook are featured at Northbrook Days in the Beer Tent. The school serves learners of all ages and experience levels from Northbrook and nearby communities, with instruction in guitar, piano, drums, voice, DJ, violin, trumpet, and more. As the home of Beat Refinery DJ School, it also offers training in mixing, scratching, and music production. From early childhood classes to Glee Club and Rock Band, along with camps and birthday celebrations, these programs help students grow and find opportunities to share their music across the North Shore and the Chicagoland area.

Clinard Dance's Flamenco Quartet Project returns to Space with a cross-genre program that brings flamenco into conversation with blues, jazz, and rap. Rooted in the form's history, artistry, and structure, the ensemble creates collaborative, multidisciplinary pieces that connect with audiences and build community. Since 2021 the group has worked with local artists from jazz, blues, and hip hop backgrounds, exploring how flamenco can deepen understanding of authentic blues, jazz, and spoken word traditions. The performance features jazz vocalist Joan Collaso, rapper King Mossa, flamenco percussionist Diego Alvarez, flamenco singer Cachito Jose Diaz, blues great Billy Branch, tap artist Jumaane Taylor, guitarist Andrea Salcedo, and flamenco dancer Wendy Clinard. Angela Allen of Chicago Stage and Screen Review notes the project’s dynamic blend where flamenco intersects with contemporary styles to create an evening of sound, rhythm, and motion.

For more than four decades he has carried the torch for American roots music on his own terms, pairing a commanding baritone and twang-soaked guitar with stories shaped by life on the road. His latest release, Unwanted, written and produced entirely by Watson, highlights his range, from the breakneck kick of Willie Waylon and Whiskey to the heartfelt If You Really Loved Me (Outlive Me) and the reflective Life is Like a Song. Expect a performance led with the authority of a seasoned ringleader and the spirit of a tradition keeper still forging his own path.

I Love You Because is a contemporary romantic musical from the team of Ryan Cunningham, who wrote the book and lyrics, and Joshua Salzman, who composed the music, with orchestrations by Larry Hochman and direction by Scott Shallenbarger. It explores the pitfalls of modern dating, including rebounds, uncomfortable intimate moments, and a string of less than perfect coffee meetups. Drawing inspiration from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, it celebrates the way opposites can connect and turns the chaos of finding love into a feel-good, rom-com style story onstage.

This intergenerational choral workshop welcomes singers of all ages and experience levels, from seasoned choristers to school singers to those who simply love to sing in the shower. Participants will spend the day building community, expanding vocal skills, and creating music together, with no prior experience or preparation required. Professional guest clinicians include Karen Brunssen, a respected voice specialist and Northwestern University professor, Stephanie Gregoire, a University of Illinois Chicago music education professor with expertise in children’s choirs, and Kate Lee, choir director at Glenview Community Church and Maine East High School. The workshop takes place at Glenview Community Church. Breakfast and lunch are included with registration. The day concludes with a brief, informal showcase for friends and family. Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for kids.
