The 14th For Kids' Sake International Superhero 5K Run/Walk welcomes runners and walkers to participate in person at Turley Park in Carbondale, Illinois or to complete the distance virtually from any location. Each entry helps provide food, clothing, shelter, healthcare, education, and opportunities for children and families in Bangladesh, The Gambia, and Southern Illinois, furthering FKSI’s mission to support, educate, and empower those in need. In-person participants take on a certified 5K course with chip timing provided by To The Finish, while virtual participants can submit their results online. Awards are given to the top two finishers in each five-year age group for the in-person race, with divisions beginning at ages 1 to 9 and continuing through 70 and older. Additional prizes highlight top fundraisers, fastest times, standout superhero costumes, and best dressed pets. Registration is $25 for adults and $15 for those 17 and under. Fundraisers who raise $350 or more receive a special FKSI swag gift, and shipping is available for virtual participants.

A friendly bags tournament brings people together to play, share memories, and honor Hayden by supporting the Hayden Lence Scholarship. This is the second tournament, created to carry forward Hayden’s passion for sports through community connection and remembrance. Additional information will be shared as preparations move ahead.
