At the Buffalo Grove Farmers Market in Mike Rylko Community Park, shoppers can browse fresh fruits and vegetables from local growers, condiments, gourmet coffee, ready-to-eat options, pastries, and more. The Beth Am food pantry welcomes nonperishable donations through a curbside collection. All drop-offs take place outside and visitors will not enter the synagogue building. To keep operations safe and orderly, only a small volunteer team of six to ten people will be scheduled, coordinated by chairpeople Barb K and Jane Z, and anyone not on that team is asked not to volunteer in person. For those who cannot shop, a monetary gift directed to the Food Pantry is accepted and the pantry will purchase needed groceries on your behalf. Current priorities include an assortment of canned goods such as beans, soups, vegetables, fruits, tomato products, chicken, tuna, chili, pasta meals like ravioli and spaghetti-Os, plus beef stew and beef hash. Items in plastic jars are preferred for peanut butter, jelly, and spaghetti sauce. Helpful shelf-stable staples include meal kits like Tuna Helper, Hamburger Helper, and macaroni and cheese, as well as boxed instant potatoes, dry rice, packaged side dishes, breakfast cereal that is not overly sugary, small bags of flour and sugar, containers of oatmeal, and toilet paper. Please provide standard-size packages, avoid pork products, and make sure nothing is past its expiration date. The collection reflects a longstanding value of sharing abundance with those in need, echoing a teaching from Leviticus.

This concert is part of Mundelein’s Concerts in the Park summer series at Kracklauer Park. Organized by the Mundelein Community Days Commission, it is free to attend, and guests may bring snacks and drinks for a relaxed evening in the park.
