HobbyTown Batavia Raceway presents a parking lot racing series built around eight points race days, with your top six results counting toward the championship. For year end awards, a class qualifies only if it fields at least five participants on six or more race days. The track opens for practice before racing begins, and registration is completed prior to the first race. Classes offered include Losi NASCAR box stock, VTA, USGT, 17.5 touring car, Tamiya Mini, 2wd SCT, and 2wd buggy. Entry fees are $20 for the first class and $10 for each additional class. MyLaps transponders are used, with house block style units available that must be swapped after every race due to their built-in battery.

The 9th Annual Moose-a-Palooza Music Fest and Fundraiser brings a full day of live music to the Fox Valley with eight bands performing across two stages in support of a meaningful cause. Attendees can bring lawn chairs, enjoy food and cold drinks, and spend the day listening to classic rock, blues, country, and familiar favorites. Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted on the grounds. The Masus Financial Main Stage hosts performances by GNP, Saint Astro, Head Honchos, and the Big Al Wetzel Band. The 212 Degrees Construction Stage features the Corey Marshall Band, Sour Crow, The Sociables, and Pawnshop. All net proceeds help the Batavia Moose Lodge benefit the children of Mooseheart Child City and School, providing safe housing, education, and brighter opportunities. Later, create herbal bath salts inspired by the forest using plants like pine, cedar, lavender, and sage, along with other available botanicals. Through approachable herbal alchemy, discover ways to work with water to cleanse, purify, and ground energy. The gathering continues with a water lantern activity that highlights the meaning of lanterns across cultures. Personalize a lantern with a message, an intention, or something to release, and share quiet, meaningful moments with those nearby. The experience concludes with a lantern release on the water, inviting a gentle glow and a final circle to reflect on the day’s lessons and integrate them.

Carol Stream’s Summer Send-Off fills the Ross Ferraro Town Center with two days of music and community fun. Look forward to a night packed with songs you know, opportunities to sing and dance, and a few unexpected surprises.

A family-friendly 5K run and walk at Mallard Lake Forest Preserve in Hanover Park welcomes participants of all ages, whether taking part solo or on a team. The focus is on community, remembrance, and support for people affected by crashes caused by impaired or reckless driving. Participation benefits the Victims’ Assistance Fund, which helps families with essentials such as groceries, transportation, funeral expenses, education, and counseling, and encourages collaboration with law enforcement and victim advocates to help prevent future losses.
