This monthly, in-person session at Lovell FHCC offers a TRICARE West brief that explains TRICARE benefits in the U.S. and compares plan options. It is held in Building 4, Auditorium 105, within the Education Center of Excellence. Parking is in Lot T, followed by a short walk to Building 4. Enter through the glass doors, and the auditorium is just inside on the left.

Every other Thursday night during the season, La Cantina brings a DJ-driven soundtrack to On The Rocks, a lakeside spot on the shore of Lake Michigan. Each edition features a rotating lineup of food trucks. On The Rocks operates a full-service cash bar and provides fire pits and tables for guests. Attendees are welcome to bring personal chairs for extra comfort while taking in the music, food, and waterfront views. Payments are cash only, with an ATM available on site. Parking is free and there is no cover charge. Outside beverages are not allowed.

Dan Fester brings his one man band back to Waukegan, appearing as both himself and his space jam alter ego, Galactic Jack. A groove-forward performance filled with spacey jams sets the tone for the evening.

Take a scenic walk with the GO Gurnee Walking Club at Middlefork Savanna Forest Preserve, also known as Elewa Farm. The route follows a mostly flat gravel path with very little shade, heading south along the Millennium Trail to a historic train bridge built by former landowner J. Ogden Armour. It is about 1.3 miles to the bridge, and the return includes a short side loop to view the underside of the structure, making the outing approximately 2.8 miles round trip. The starting area is located just south of the intersection of Route 43 and Route 176. A portable restroom is available at the entrance, and pets are allowed.

Rooted & Hue pops up at a local craft fair all summer with one of a kind finds, including custom plant art, propagated plant babies, and handmade gifts. Live Like Roo Foundation partners with Treat Diva, Harbor Brewing, and Capture the Moment Photo for the eighth annual Roo Fest at Harbor Brewing Co. Lakefront Biergarten & Taproom. This dog friendly and family friendly fundraiser has become one of the organization’s largest of the year, and admission is free. The day features more than thirty vendors and local rescue groups, beer and other beverages from Harbor Brewing, raffles, Roo merchandise, a one mile boardwalk stroll with dogs, a dog caricature artist, food trucks, live music, and on site photo sessions.
