The Choice Food Pantry at the Grace Care Center offers a dignified, grocery-style experience that serves as the starting point for receiving support through the Care Center. Regular weekly visits help the team learn more about each household so they can connect guests with additional programs and services. The pantry is available to anyone who lives or works in Hamilton County, as well as those who live in the northern part of Marion County north of 56th Street. Reservations are strongly encouraged but not required. If arriving without a reservation, plan to come within the first 30 minutes after the waiting room opens. The waiting room opens one hour before the Care Center begins serving. No documentation is needed for a first visit, so there is no need to bring ID, bills, or pay stubs. Upon arrival at the Grace Church campus, follow the entry drive to the large north parking area and enter through the Care Center entrance at Door 18, marked by bright green signs. Check in at the waiting room just down the hallway on the left. When it is your turn, a personal shopper will walk with you through the pantry to help you find what you need. After shopping, pull your vehicle around and volunteers will load the groceries. Guests may use the Grace Care Center once per week.

HEMA: Beginning Spanish Rapier and Dagger Class
A six-week beginner class introduces HEMA through Spanish rapier and dagger. The cost is $150, and all equipment is provided. Training centers on La Verdadera Destreza, often associated with the rapier and known for its emphasis on refined technique. The curriculum draws on the teachings of Spanish fencing masters from the 16th to 18th centuries, including Luis Pacheco de Narvez, Jeronimo Sanchez de Carranza, Don Francisco Antonio de Ettenhard, and Francisco Lorenz de Rada. The art’s guiding principle focuses on control and mastery rather than killing, treating fencing as a dialogue that leads an opponent to acknowledge defeat, which contributes to its graceful and visually striking character. Participants work through key Destreza systems and techniques such as circular actions, precise sword handling, evasive footwork, distance control, timing, engagements, right-angle positioning, disengages, thrusts, parries, and disarms. Classes incorporate traditional Spanish carousel-style drills and practice with the unarmed hand as well as with a dagger or cloak. Instruction also touches on contemporaneous Italian approaches, including Fabris, that offered answers to Spanish methods.

This weekly, staff-led Creek Stomp at Grand Junction Plaza centers on hands-on exploration of the cool waters of Grassy Branch Creek. Presented by Williams Creek Management, sessions highlight the wildlife found in area creeks and may also cover animal identification, invasive species, watersheds, and ecosystems. Participants receive a small bucket and net to take home for continued discovery. An adaptive and accessible version, made possible by Colt Moving, features water tables with creek samples set up near the creek so everyone can investigate. The program is family friendly. Pets are not permitted. Closed toe shoes are required, and bringing water, sunscreen, and a hat is recommended. Cost is $8 per participant.

Expect a gently rolling bike course on mostly county roads and a flat run on paved paths and quiet neighborhood streets. The Sprint uses single-lap segments, while the Olympic features two laps per segment. Finisher medals and a race T-shirt are provided, along with age group and overall awards. Sprint distance totals include a 500 yard swim, a 12.5 mile bike, and a 3.1 mile run. The Olympic distance features a 1500 meter swim, a 24.8 mile bike, and a 6.2 mile run.
