The fourth annual kids fishing derby takes place at the Rotary Pavilion in Freeman Lake Park. Registration opens first, followed by the start of fishing. Loaves of Love is a faith-centered outreach hosted by MOD Squad Teen Outreach Ministry, focused on serving the community with care. Political candidates who choose to volunteer are asked to leave phones in their vehicles, refrain from campaigning or using the effort for photos or videos, and be prepared to contribute for the full session. They are encouraged to participate as fellow residents rather than as candidates and to help out of genuine compassion. The focus remains on humble service and meeting needs, not on publicity.

Movie: Aladdin

The State Theater presents Aladdin as part of its Summer of Adventure movie series. Sponsored by West Point Bank, this G-rated story follows a kind-hearted street urchin and a power-hungry Grand Vizier as they compete for a magic lamp that can grant their deepest wishes. Turtle Walk & Talk

Celebrating 17 years as a Father’s Day tradition, this walk and talk with Dr. Paul Gerard invites participants to learn about turtles and see the process up close. It begins with a short talk and a hands-on show and tell at Haycraft Mill Park, then continues with an easy hike to Buffalo Lake to pull in traps that were set in ponds two days earlier. The route is about one mile round trip, so comfortable walking attire is recommended. Meet at the Haycraft parking trailhead across from the Justice Center. Parking at that lot is limited, and parking behind the Justice Center is suggested. Watch Dr. Paul remove turtles from the traps and try to identify each one. The program takes place rain or shine and welcomes all ages. No turtles are harmed.

Kids can take on the Snowball Mountain Challenge at a camp packed with winter sports fun. Participants move through cool competitions, snow-themed surprises, and hands-on activities that build skills. A meal is served each evening. The program is open to potty-trained three-year-olds through 5th graders and takes place nightly.

Celebrate the 82nd Guam Liberation with a community potluck where side dishes and desserts are appreciated. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own tents, canopies, tables, and chairs. Beverages are BYOB, and glass bottles are not allowed. Outdoor games such as volleyball, cornhole, or Connect Four are welcome. Pack extra clothes and towels for a dip in the creek, which many refer to as the beach.
