Across the six sessions, themes include knowing, forgiving, releasing, trusting, loving, and ultimately being yourself. Within the supportive energy of The Light System, the setting encourages relaxation, renewal, and personal growth. Whether new to meditation or experienced, participants can deepen self awareness while cultivating peace, clarity, and wellbeing.

Meet adoptable rescue dogs and puppies at Covington PetSmart. These events typically feature 15 to 20 pups ready to meet potential adopters, with adoptions available for those who already have an approved application. Because applications usually take about three days to process, submitting in advance is encouraged. If adopting is not the right fit, the rescue also welcomes foster caregivers. Fostering has no out of pocket cost, and the rescue provides all necessary supplies and veterinary care. Foster volunteers can drop off their foster dogs for the event and pick them up afterward if they are not adopted.

Auditions continue for Moonlight Productions' staging of C. Z. Barnett’s adaptation of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, directed by Ashley Osbourn-Dukes. The team is shaping a shadowy, fairytale-inspired interpretation that blends Victorian-era chills, unusual apparitions, heartfelt warmth, redemption, and a touch of stage magic. Actors should arrive with a prepared monologue, and either modern or period pieces are acceptable. Opportunities are open to experienced performers as well as those stepping onto the stage for the first time.

Created for those facing a breast cancer diagnosis, this private, facilitator-led space offers a welcoming setting to share experiences, discuss challenges and strategies, and offer mutual encouragement. Sessions are led by Crystal Hooper, LPC-S. With a focus on African American women in Louisiana, the group broadens access to support resources through a partnership with Gilead Sciences. Meetings take place at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Administration Building, and a Zoom participation option is available.
