The curriculum is built on the medically informed, three-dimensional, target-focused methods developed by Dr. James S. Williams through his Tactical Anatomy program. Students learn to make fast, effective decisions in life-threatening encounters, combining an understanding of human anatomy with short-range precision and a resilient survival mindset. Across two prop-rich live-fire blocks and in-depth classroom sessions, participants explore topics such as a foundational lecture from Dr. Williams, practical decision-making under pressure, immediate self-aid if injured, and a 3D approach to defensive shooting that highlights critical structures like the aortic arch. Training includes a pocket pistol demonstration, lessons drawn from real incidents and historic gunfights, considerations for what follows an armed encounter, and analysis of defensive handgun caliber performance. Live-fire components include approximately 150 rounds focused on 3D targeting and 200 rounds reinforcing street-relevant skills and visualization. Students should arrive with a preferred carry pistol, noting that all variants of the SIG Sauer P320, including M17 and M18 models, are not permitted. A safe belt holster that allows one-handed reholstering is required, and Serpa style, shoulder, and ankle holsters are not allowed. Bring a spare magazine carrier, three magazines, eye and ear protection, sturdy footwear, rugged clothing with an optional hat, a suitable gun belt, and an optional cover garment for open or concealed work. Plan to take notes during the classroom blocks, and pack lunch, drinks, and snacks. If applicable, sunscreen is recommended. Total ammunition needed is 350 rounds. Range fees apply at the training site. This course is hosted at Crescent City Concealed Carry. Registration is subject to a firm policy in which tuition is nonrefundable if a student cancels or does not attend. If the organizer cancels, a refund or credit toward a future class will be issued. Exceptions may be considered case by case.
