    Quiana Lynell and more

Mandeville · Dew Drop Jazz & Social Hall

At the Dew Drop Jazz & Social Hall in Old Mandeville, the Northshore Gospel Choir returns to the historic stage for a community celebration of faith, music, and local talent. The ensemble features singers from area African American churches, guided by music director Dr. Maurice Moncure, and will share beloved gospel selections and hymns with the possibility of a few holiday pieces. Voices from First Free Mission Baptist Church, Morning Star Baptist Church, Goodwill Baptist, and other congregations come together in a program that moves from quiet intimacy to powerful, full-ensemble choruses. The second set highlights the soulful artistry of Quiana Lynell, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and international award-winning jazz vocalist whose sound blends jazz, blues, and gospel-infused soul. Rooted in Louisiana’s musical traditions and shaped by more than two decades of performance and education experience, Lynell pairs technical command with heartfelt storytelling. Presented by the Friends of the Dew Drop, the event offers home-cooked dishes for purchase from the Ladies of First Free Mission Baptist Church next door, along with soft drinks, water, beer, and wine. Admission is $15 per adult, with free entry for students and children. Tickets are not sold in advance, and payment is taken at the entrance. Outside food or drinks are not permitted, lawn chairs are welcome on the grounds outside the hall, smoking is not allowed on the premises, and pets are not permitted.
