Experience a lively weekly farmers market with a broadened roster of more than 30 local participants, including farms, small-batch food makers, artisans and community organizations. Browse seasonal fruits and vegetables, bread, pasta, hummus, coffee, olive oil and other pantry essentials, along with specialty items and ready-to-enjoy options. The atmosphere includes live music, cooking demonstrations and activities for children. SNAP customers can receive a $15 match, and three participating farmers accept HIP benefits.

Drop into Abbot Public Library to unwind with a cup of coffee or tea while you browse for your next book, chat with neighbors, work on community puzzles, or savor a quiet start to the day. Locally brewed Atomic Coffee from Marblehead’s Blue Canoe Cafe will be available, along with coffee fixings and a selection of tea. Bringing your own mug is encouraged. There is no registration and no fee, just come by. Sponsored by the Friends of Abbot Public Library.

Clear out the gear closet and help give sports equipment a second life at this community swap at Hall Park beside the Farmers Market. Donate outgrown or unused items or pick up something new to you. Please bring items early enough so others have a chance to find them rather than right at closing. All items must be in good condition. Accepted items include sports balls, bats, mitts and sports gloves, cleats and shin guards, racquets and paddles, lacrosse, field hockey and hockey sticks, rollerblades, youth golf clubs, swim goggles, and razor scooters. Items that will not be accepted include helmets, pads, ski or snowboard gear, sneakers, clothing, hunting or archery equipment, bicycles, and ice skates. Black plastic takeout containers will also be collected for recycling.

Beantown Cookout at Boston Harley-Davidson offers complimentary burgers and hot dogs. Voluntary contributions are appreciated, with proceeds supporting the Boston H.O.G. Chapter.
