For years, Heath and bassist Jimbo Wallace have toured the world under a simple credo to rock hard, drive fast, and live true. Special guest Messer Chups opens the show, bringing cult surf-rock energy with eerie instrumentals, retro horror aesthetics, and twang-soaked riffs that fuse vintage B-movie spirit with a modern edge. His career has taken him from The Late Show with David Letterman to the Grand Ole Opry and Lincoln Center. A Juno Award winner celebrated for vivid portraits of rural Canada, he has spent four decades turning gas station lore, county fair romances, broken-down tractors, and gravel roads into enduring songs. His devoted “Fred Heads” follow performances that feel both intimate and electric, cementing his place in alt-country. His songs have been covered by Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, and Miranda Lambert, and more than 120 artists across genres, from bluegrass to punk, have recorded his cult favorite Alcohol & Pills. Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium, 873 Long Dr, Aberdeen · verified Sep 13
    See details

Experience precision driving on a temporary course laid out with soft orange cones that will not harm your car if you clip one. Typical runs happen around second gear with speeds roughly 25 to 70 mph, putting the spotlight on car control at the limit rather than outright top speed. Along the way, drivers build confidence, learn how their brakes behave near the edge, fine tune seating plus hand and foot placement for better control, and explore the boundaries of grip. The day also has a strong social element with plenty of high-energy fun among new and longtime enthusiasts. Entries from any make and model are accepted. Pre-registration with online payment is required, priced at $60 for PCA members and $70 for non-members. Driver entries are capped at 80; additional sign-ups go to a waitlist and may be invited if space opens. Walk-up driver entries are not available. If you want to sample the action without competing, the Taste of Autocross offers instructor ride-alongs for $5, with multiple runs and no advance sign-up. Check in with the organizers at the trailer on event day. The program typically includes registration and technical inspection, time to walk the course with an optional guided walk, a drivers meeting, and timed runs, concluding after the final car finishes. Classing follows established guidelines. Non-Porsche cars use SCCA Solo categories for 2026, selecting Non-Porsche (using SCCA classing) first and then the specific SCCA class in the modifier field during registration. Porsche entries are organized into Showroom Stock (S), Production (P), Improved (I), and Modified (M) per Chesapeake PCA autocross rules. Noise will be checked according to the SCCA sound procedure, and vehicles must measure under 108 dBc using that method. Participants must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver license, except for the Junior Participation Program that allows eligible 16 to 18-year-old children or grandchildren of active PCA members to drive with the proper license and required forms while a parent or grandparent is present. All drivers and spectators must sign a liability waiver, with electronic Speedwaiver encouraged or on-site signatures accepted. Helmets with a Snell 2015 or newer approval are required, M or SA ratings are acceptable and an SA helmet is recommended. Head socks will be provided, and a limited supply of loaner helmets will be on hand. Activities take place at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium.

It is suitable for beginners as well as those looking to build on existing skills. Instruction covers safety practices, the chemistry of saponification, how to use a soap calculator to create balanced, skin-friendly bars, swirling techniques for eye-catching designs, and curing methods with professional tips. Elkton Music Hall, 109 W Main St, Elkton · verified Sep 13
    See details

Marshall Crenshaw brings a career’s worth of songs and stories, shaped by years of writing, recording, and touring. Born in Detroit and drawn to the guitar from a young age, he broke through in 1978 portraying John Lennon in Beatlemania, first as an understudy in New York, then with the West Coast cast and the national tour. After leaving the production in early 1980, he moved to New York City, where the vibrant rock scene inspired him to form a trio with his brother Robert on drums and Chris Donato on bass. Not long after, a connection with Alan Betrock led to his debut single, “Something’s Gonna Happen,” on Shake Records, while Robert Gordon released his version of Crenshaw’s “Someday, Someway” on RCA. Both tracks earned major airplay on New York’s WNEW-FM and quickly raised the trio’s local profile. Since then he has built a four-decade run marked by 13 albums, appearances on film and television including portraying Buddy Holly in La Bamba, and thousands of concerts. His current touring band, assembled in 2022, features Fernando Perdomo on guitar, a multi-instrumentalist and producer, Derrick Anderson on bass, also a singer-songwriter, and drummer Mark Ortmann, a founder of the Bottle Rockets. Sarah Borges and Eric Ambel open.
