An Evening of Skipjacks

MESC hosts an evening presented by Skipjack Heritage that celebrates Maryland’s historic skipjacks. Pres Harding, grandson of skipjack builder Bronza Parks, shares photographs, music, traditional sea shanties, and memories from his childhood in the boatyard as “The Boy in the Boatyard.” Captains Shawn Ridgley, Wade Murphy III, and Stoney Whitelock add their firsthand perspectives from life aboard these iconic working vessels. The program also features a screening of the documentary “Voices of the Skipjack.” Maryland’s Skipjack Triple Crown of Racing includes the Deal Island Skipjack Blessing of the Fleet with its blessing, parade, and race, the Skipjack Heritage Race at Sandy Point State Park with parade and race activities, and the Choptank Classic Skipjack Race in Cambridge with parade and race activities.

Niagara falls Bus trip 2026

This multi-day bus getaway to Niagara Falls includes convenient pickups in Salisbury, Seaford, and Camden. The coach offers WiFi and a restroom, and water is typically available. Small coolers that fit under the seat are welcome, but please avoid glass. Admission for popular attractions such as Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and Fort Niagara is collected on the bus and is estimated at approximately $75 per person, subject to change depending on group discounts. Crossing the Rainbow Bridge into Canada is optional, and passports are only required if you choose to cross. Transportation is $300 per person. A $150 deposit per person secures a seat, with the remaining $150 as the balance. Hotel accommodations are $267 per night, or $800 for three nights, with up to four guests per room, two beds in each room, and daily breakfast included. One person in each group handles the room payment, with a $400 deposit and a $400 remaining balance. A tip for the driver is collected at the end of the trip, and there will be a 50/50 and possibly a raffle during the ride.

WTBA 3 day Workshop - Salisbury USA

A three day WTBA workshop at Parks Martial Arts focuses on hands-on training in Taiji and Chinese boxing, welcoming both newcomers and experienced practitioners. The opening sessions feature interactive pad work and drills 1 through 4, with a break in the middle of the day when participants can bring their own lunch or pick up something nearby, then training continues with Chinese boxing drills 1 to 4. The next day centers on Push Hands with time for free play and applications, followed by Sticky Hands through stages 1 to 3. The final day is devoted to YLC Taiji First Third, starting with applications practice and finishing with focused form corrections. Delmarva Riders 6th Annual Tucker Bike Benefit

A community motorcycle gathering returns for its sixth year as the Delmarva Riders present the Tucker Bike Benefit, raising funds for a local Delmarva resident facing cancer. The day begins with registration at Rommel Harley-Davidson in Salisbury, where breakfast sandwiches are available for purchase and DJ Mikey provides the soundtrack, followed by a police escorted group ride to the Pittsville Volunteer Fire Department. Once there, attendees will find a cash bar, barbecued chicken dinners, a Chinese auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Entertainment continues with DJ Mikey and a live set from Rockoholics. Atlantis Tattoo will be on site for tattoo services, and families can enjoy a petting zoo and pony rides from Shy 5 Farm, a free bounce house for kids, and a variety of vendors. All proceeds support a local resident of Delmarva battling cancer.

5th Annual Strikeout Alzheimer's Fundraiser

Visiting Angels is hosting a bowling night fundraiser at SouthBound Alley in South Salisbury to support the fight against Alzheimer’s. More than 6 million Americans are living with the disease, and the Alzheimer’s Association works to advance research, encourage risk reduction and early detection, and improve care and support. Teams of five can register to bowl, with space available for up to 20 teams. The team fee is $300, or $60 per person, and it covers three hours on the lanes, five shoe rentals, a large cheese pizza, a large boardwalk fry, and five water bottles. The evening will also include a 50/50 raffle, prize baskets, and awards for teams. Lane sponsorships are available, with 20 opportunities at $300 each, or sponsors can bundle a lane with a team for a total of $500. Sponsors receive their logo on a banner at the end of a lane along with recognition on social media. Contributions for prize basket donations are welcome. Families, friends, and community members can explore the displays, connect with homeschool families, and support young artists as they share their imagination and hard work. Attendees may wish to bring a chair or blanket for comfort while enjoying the artwork.

Fall Festival at Faith Baptist School

Faith Baptist School hosts a community fall festival with activities and treats for families. The festival features classic games, a hayride, small tractor rides, and bounce houses. Activity tickets cost 25 cents each, keeping participation affordable. Food, homemade baked goods, and other items will be available for purchase.

Fall Fun at Oakleys Farm Market

Homeschoolers are invited to a hands-on fall learning experience at Oakley’s Farm Market focused on pumpkins and gourds. An educational tour explores the wide range of shapes, sizes, colors, and varieties grown on the farm while explaining the pumpkin life cycle from seed to vine to harvest. After the tour, each child can head into the patch to pick a pumpkin to take home. The visit offers a look at life on a working farm and blends science with agriculture, giving homeschool families time to connect and make memories together. Boots are recommended and a spirit of adventure is welcome. Sign-up details will be shared soon, and the estimated price is $10.
