The Runaway Maine Music Fest returns with two full days of live music, food trucks, and a bustling vendor village. Set on the grounds of the former Twitchell Airport in Turner, Maine, the event offers free onsite parking and a welcoming festival atmosphere. This is a BYOB gathering, and the parking lot and food trucks open two hours before the main gate each day to allow time for tailgating and socializing. Coolers may be brought into the venue for a $10 cash fee per cooler and will be checked to ensure there is no glass. Glass bottles, containers, and cups are not permitted anywhere on the property, including the parking lot. Friday features performances by Bryan Martin, Cole Barnhill, Katie Noel, and The Real Young Swagg. Saturday brings Sister Hazel, Marcy Playground, Sponge, and Toby McAllister & The Sierra Sounds, along with additional supporting acts. The festival is open to all ages, with free admission for children 12 and under. Attendees under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. The event takes place rain or shine. Pets are not allowed, except for ADA service animals. All sales are final, and tickets are non transferable and nonrefundable.

New Oxford Dragway hosts a Coastal Auto Parts points series championship featuring all classes alongside open Test & Tune. Time trials lead into eliminations, giving points contenders, Junior Dragster teams, and anyone looking to make passes a chance to get on track. The venue caters to racers of every level, with eliminator divisions organized by vehicle type and a Test & Tune option that offers a relaxed, non competitive way to experience drag racing. Concessions serve great food and cold beverages, creating a welcoming atmosphere for a full program of runs. Racing admission is $30 for Street and $30 for Test & Tune, $40 for Junior Dragster, and $55 for Sleds and Bikes, Modified, Pro Tree, and Top ET. Crew admission is $15. Admission is $8 for children ages 6 to 17 and for veterans or seniors, and children 5 and under are free. Participants are encouraged to race safely and enjoy the action.

A weekly run and walk group explores the valley’s trails. The group meets under the canopy for a short briefing from leaders, then heads out on the routes. Participants sign in at the start and sign out at the end. Volunteer leaders support each week’s outing, with an option to lead for a month, typically four to five runs. A brewpub offers food and drinks, along with live music.

A spectacular annual yard sale takes place at the West Auburn Schoolhouse.

Each session offers 30 to 40 minutes of guided meditation, and participants are free to practice in their own way if they prefer. Settle into an hour of gentle yoga led by Certified Yoga Teacher Emma Samson in a peaceful outdoor setting with mountain views. Each session is welcoming to beginners and concludes as the sun sets, opening up expansive views of Western Maine from the top of the orchard. The class meets at Ricker Hill Orchards in the pick-your-own apple area at the hilltop. Follow the Yoga signs all the way up and park on the grass in the orchard. The cost is $15 per person, payable in cash or via Venmo at @EmmaSamson13, and no advance registration is required. If the fee is a hardship, please reach out to discuss options.
