At TNT ARENA, Phil Haugen leads a two-day horsemanship clinic built around Level 1 through 3 exercises from his colt starting and foundational program. The instruction centers on an understanding-based approach that prioritizes clear communication and leadership while helping the horse stay confident and mentally engaged. Participants can expect check-in and roundtable discussions, time to saddle and warm up, focused riding sessions on the concept of release, developing feel, timing and balance, introducing stop, rate and turn, and refining softness and straight lines, along with optional open arena time. The outline is flexible and may adjust from one clinic to the next. Phil is certified through the John Maxwell Leadership Program and coaches trainers on mindset and personal growth so horse and rider progress as a team. He hosts the Be Your Best Horsemanship podcast and has mentored riders and trainers around the world through clinics, online education and mentorship. His experience includes a Linderman Award, induction into the North Dakota Cowboy Hall of Fame, multiple nominations for Western Horseman Best of Trainers and Clinicians, and selection as a 2025 Road to the Horse Championship competitor. Rider registration is 750 dollars and limited to 18 riders. Spectator access is 150 dollars per day or 250 dollars for the weekend. Parents or guardians accompanying a minor may watch at no charge. Allegany Mountain Saddlery is offering professional saddle fittings at Morning View Farm, LLC. for up to 23 horses. Each individual session lasts about 45 minutes and includes an explanation of the fitting process, an evaluation of the horse’s conformation, and a conversation about discipline, riding frequency, and any issues. Staci then works to identify an appropriate tree for the horse, and her assistant, Lisa, follows by helping select a saddle style and answering detailed questions. A 100% satisfaction guarantee is provided. The fitting fee is $275, and if a new or used saddle is purchased, $200 of that fee is credited toward it. A $100 deposit reserves an appointment, with a remaining balance of $175. If more than one horse is being fitted, each additional horse is $200 after the first.
