Beaver Volleyball celebrates Homecoming with a game against the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Participants meet at Bemidji Brewing for a relaxed 2 to 4 mile run, then many stick around afterward to enjoy a beer or a soft drink at the brewery. All experience levels and paces are welcome, and friendly dogs may come along. Turnout typically ranges from a handful to about fifteen runners. The group goes out year round in most conditions, skipping only when the weather is extremely cold or unpleasant. Distance and pace are flexible. Sometimes runners split into smaller groups to match different speeds and goals, and other times everyone stays together. If you are new to running or not ready to run yet, stopping by the brewery for the social part is absolutely fine.

Spend three days exploring sculptural basketry in the Bemidji area, with a welcoming format for complete beginners and returning weavers. The experience begins with a shared project that uses a prepared antler or driftwood base so everyone can start weaving right away. After that first build, participants design their own pieces, selecting from natural materials and drawing inspiration from samples and sketches. Shannon and Jesse offer guidance on structure, proportion, and technique while leaving creative choices in each person’s hands. Most participants complete about three works by the end, and some finish four or five. Registration is $100 and includes all materials, catered lunch and afternoon snacks, use of hand tools such as awls, shears, and soaking tubs, plus a personal respirator mask and safety glasses to take home. Work that involves drilling takes place at a dedicated outdoor station under a tent, and every participant uses their own safety gear. The venue will be a scenic site in the north Bemidji area with accessible bathrooms, ample parking, and outdoor space for the drilling station, with the exact location to be confirmed. The schedule is flexible and open flow, with lunch and breaks built in. Support from the Artists Engage Community grant makes the reduced fee possible, lowering barriers to learning advanced craft skills; without this support, the workshop would otherwise cost between $300 and $400 per person.

Wag & Walk welcomes dog lovers for a community stroll with their leashed pets. Individual registration is available with an early bird rate of $25, increasing to $30 afterward. T-shirts are guaranteed for those who register early. The day begins with registration and T-shirt pickup for pre-registered participants, with walk-up registration also available. The walk follows, then K-9 unit demonstrations. Vendors include Sit. Stay. Heel Dog Training and an ice cream truck. Water will be provided for dogs, and participants are asked to bring a personal water bowl. All pets must remain on a leash and under control. For the safety of attendees, please do not bring pets that are aggressive toward people, children, or other animals.

Homecoming arrives in the Northwoods with another Battle of the Beavers, as BSU hosts Minot State. Gates open one hour before kickoff, and tailgating is available at Diamond Point Park for those who come early.

This memorial concert named for Carl O. Thompson brings music to the stage. Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors 65 and older. K-12 students and BSU/NTC students are admitted free.
