Each activity blends science with art and storytelling, guiding campers as they assemble an outdoor-inspired fairy scene. Everyone completes a charming miniature world to take home.

Sewing Level 2 class July 27-31, 2-3:30pm $245

Level 2 builds on the foundations from Level 1 with a week of hands-on projects. It begins with an applique initial pillow to practice hemming and applique skills. Next comes a doll-sized quilt that serves as a simple, small-scale introduction to quilting. A laundry bag project, new this year, explores how sewing with knits differs from working with wovens. The final two days focus on creating and accessorizing a Black Apple doll, giving space for each maker’s personality to shine in the finished design.

This Level 4 session builds on techniques from earlier classes as everyone creates a cargo duffel bag designed by noodlehead. The project is taught step by step to keep it approachable, yet it calls for close attention to detail and the stamina needed for a larger undertaking. Along the way, participants will line and quilt the bag, finish edges cleanly, and add snaps to closures they already know how to make.

All summer, a school supply drive is collecting items to fill backpacks for kids in need. Drop-offs can be made at The 303, in the dining hall area, where a large silver collection box will be available. Monetary contributions are also accepted online. In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the organizers plan to match $250 in supplies in addition to their regular donation.

Hosted by the Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Association, this free birthday celebration at Fish Lake Park in Maple Grove spotlights adaptive recreation on the water and on land. Attendees can try adaptive kayaks and paddle boards, test a variety of adapted hand cycles including a power-assist mountain trike, and learn about adaptive SCUBA. The day also includes opportunities to socialize, share food, and connect with others who have similar experiences. All mobility disabilities are welcome, and friends and family are encouraged to come along. Those who prefer to observe and focus on conversation are welcome as well. At Omni Brewing Co. in Maple Grove, a hands-on epoxy workshop guides participants in creating a custom piece such as a charcuterie board, lazy susan, clock, key holder shelf, coasters, or a mini pair. Projects use premium black walnut and other select hardwoods, with the option to personalize by choosing up to two epoxy colors upon arrival. After the session, each item cures for about a week, then enters a careful finishing process that typically takes 8 to 10 weeks, with the overall timeline influenced by class size and shipping. Completed pieces are shipped so creations arrive in excellent condition. All ticket sales are final. If attendance is not possible, a substitute may participate instead. Each attendee age 12 and older needs a ticket, and a couples ticket allows two people to collaborate on a single project.

This level 5 sewing class focuses on creating a collaborative quilt from start to finish. The market and food row showcases vendors offering African clothing, artwork, crafts, jewelry, and a wide array of authentic cuisine. In the Connectors area, 10 service-based small businesses and 5 community partners share their services and products. Throughout the festival, high-energy performances highlight traditional and contemporary sounds, and attendees can pick up drum-driven dance steps and the latest Afrobeats moves alongside fellow fans of Afro culture while they continue to shop, eat, learn, and celebrate together.

Explore a vintage flea market at Elm Creek Brewing Co with games, a mix of craft vendors, and food trucks. It offers a chance to support makers from the community as well as direct sales sellers.
