Work on painting, building, or any other personal project in a relaxed, creative setting. Beginners can get helpful tips, and experienced hobbyists can share their work and connect with others. There is no cost to participate, and outside food is welcome.

A free community group run sets out from PRG every Wednesday, offering 4 and 6 mile routes. Paces range from a walk or jog up to around nine minutes per mile. Friends are welcome. A headlamp is needed at least through February, along with a smile.

Community Plate offers a welcoming meal in the Great Room at Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church, created to help meet a basic need and share care within the community. In 2026 it follows a second and last Thursday schedule each month. Holiday adjustments apply... on Thanksgiving and New Year the format changes to grab and go brunch themed box lunches, with registration to be announced closer to those dates.

On Fridays, table space is free for board gamers. Attendees can arrive with a group, look for new players, or enjoy a solo game. Open to all board gaming enthusiasts.

A free concert by The C Notes takes place at Lakefront Park. Attendees can bring chairs and a cooler, but glass is not allowed. Enjoy food from on-site vendors during the show. Kids Building Minnesota is a free, hands-on construction experience for children and families at the Mall of America East Lot. Young builders can climb aboard and even ride in real construction equipment, tackle make-and-take projects, and dive into interactive STEM and skilled trade exhibits. The day features numerous stations, live demonstrations, and opportunities to talk with industry professionals, all in a safe, family-friendly setting designed to spark curiosity and creativity about how things are built. Activities are geared toward ages 4 to 12, with food available for purchase and giveaways for the first 700 kids. Open to the public and free to attend, with registration required.

The 2026 Twin Cities Walk for Apraxia is a free community gathering at Rosland Park that celebrates Apraxia Stars and brings supporters together. Organizers aim to provide a safe, fun, and memorable experience for teams, with additional details to be shared by the event. Registration is free, and each participant can work toward fundraising incentive prizes, including this year’s event t-shirt. Registered walkers who raise $50 will earn the official 2026 Walk for Apraxia shirt. All registered Apraxia Stars receive a free shirt and medal, and Apraxia Stars attending the walk are recognized individually for their hard work with a free t-shirt, medal, and certificate. Funds raised support the programs of Apraxia Kids, whose mission focuses on strengthening support for children with childhood apraxia of speech by educating families and professionals, building community engagement and outreach, and investing in advocacy and research. The walk brings parents, relatives, and professionals together to connect, offer understanding, and raise awareness of childhood apraxia of speech.

Minnetonka Public Schools and the Minnetonka Alumni Association present a community celebration at Minnetonka High School that recognizes exceptional alumni and respected educators, with a complimentary brunch included. The program features several award categories and honors individuals whose contributions have shaped the community and their fields. The Distinguished Alumni recognition includes Paul Huber ’73 for over four decades of compassionate service to families in the Lake Minnetonka area through his leadership of Huber Funeral Homes and broad support for local organizations, events, youth programs and service efforts. It also honors Kerry Olsen ’68, a leading expert in head and neck oncologic surgery whose long career at Mayo Clinic advanced patient care, medical research and surgical education, paired with extensive leadership and mentorship. The Distinguished Service recognition highlights Charlotte Bell ’65, whose work as an artist, photographer and organizer has, since 1999, supported women and girls in rural Mexico by securing materials, promoting the art of Las Rancheritas, arranging exhibits and sharing their story, strengthening families and expanding educational opportunities through art. The Young Alumni Achievement recognition celebrates Brooke (Wassenaar) Marren ’14, a Medtronic leader at the intersection of healthcare, engineering and innovation who has helped guide major medical technology initiatives, contributed to a significant clinical study focused on peripheral vascular health and mentors the next generation pursuing STEM careers. The Skippers Hall of Fame acknowledges Janet (Harrington) Jopp ’61, a pioneer for girls athletics whose leadership in the Girls’ Athletic Association brought intramural sports for girls to Minnetonka and led to her becoming the first female student at the school to earn a varsity letter. The Faculty Hall of Fame honors John “Jack” Streed (posthumous), an English teacher and mentor known for engaging instruction, high expectations and deep care for students that made classic literature meaningful and encouraged close reading, critical thinking and confident expression. It also recognizes Loren Nelson, a math teacher and mentor who, over 34 years, made complex ideas clear and practical through real-world applications, upheld high expectations and supported students and families while championing education, literacy and service. This gathering offers a warm salute to all of this year’s honorees and their enduring contributions to the Minnetonka community.

Movies in the Park presents Wicked 2 at Browndale Park in an outdoor setting. Bring a blanket or chair for seating and pack your own snacks. This screening is free, no registration is required, and all ages are welcome as outdoor movie nights return.
