Turn Left Tuesday brings carpet oval RC racing to 417 Race Place with box stock Losi NASCAR, Losi Truck, and Losi Sprint classes, plus 360 Sprint 13.5. If at least three racers enter a class, it will be added to the program. When participation allows, NASCAR style skill divisions match drivers by experience, with ARCA for rookies, Xfinity for intermediates, and Cup for experts, and the race director may adjust placements to keep the action close. The entry fee is $20 per class. Whether new to RC oval racing or a longtime competitor, racers can expect tight competition and a welcoming community focused on fast left turns and plenty of fun.

At 5C Gaming, this free Pokémon event features constructed play in the Standard format. Participants compete in three rounds, with each round decided by a best of three match, and prizes include Pokémon promo packs.

Veterans living with PTSD or moral injury can take part in a supportive guitar-focused wellness group at the Center for Music Therapy and Wellness, LLC. Guided by a certified music therapist, sessions combine group support with guitar lessons. The Moral Injury Institute, the Center for Music Therapy, and the Springfield VA VetCenter partner on this effort to place guitars with those who served through supportive instruction. Street parking is available, and the facility has an accessible entry. Participation is available in person, with a virtual option on Zoom upon request. The annual Chicken BBQ brings together the SCA and the Construction Specifications Institute for a fun evening that raises money for scholarships and WFD funds. Beyond the barbecue, there will be an annual cornhole tournament and a raffle, and remaining chicken halves will be available for purchase, so bring extra cash for the tournament, raffle, and on site purchases. Tickets are $20 in advance for SCA members and $25 for non members, with day of event pricing at $25 for SCA members and $30 for non members. The cornhole tournament is $20 per team with sign up at the event, uses a double elimination format, and allocates half of the payout to winners while the other half of proceeds benefits the MSU Construction Club. Celebrating its 20th year, this 15K follows a scenic course that starts in Ritter Springs Park, winds around lakes and crosses bridges, then continues onto the Fulbright Trail. Along the way are views of dry and wet creek beds, large limestone walls with numerous cave openings, and a few water crossings. The terrain mixes flat paved sections with hills, so completing some hill training beforehand will be helpful. The distance also serves as a solid tune up for the Cohick Half Marathon.

Paws & Plates is the flagship fundraiser for SAAF Spay and Neuter Clinic, bringing animal advocates and community supporters together at the Oasis Convention Center for an evening focused on great food, connection, and a mission that changes lives every day. Previously called the 50/50 Community Dinner, it continues to champion affordable spay and neuter services across Southwest Missouri.
