Branded Bonanza Missouri brings adopted BLM horses and burros together for a supportive, novice friendly competition at The National Equestrian Center in Lake St. Louis, MO. Adult and youth participants can choose in-hand or riding divisions that match their comfort level, with a welcoming culture that encourages growth in horsemanship and community. An open show follows the main competition. To enter, prospective competitors first adopt or purchase an eligible horse or burro from an approved source, including a BLM adoption event, a BLM holding facility, or the Forever Branded Adoption Center, then complete the event registration and upload adoption or sale paperwork for verification. If someone other than the competitor is the named adopter, that person must be present at pick up to complete required documents. For riding divisions, horses must be over 3 years old. For in-hand horse divisions, horses must be at least 1 year old. For burro divisions, burros must be at least 1 year old. Animals of any color are eligible. Every competitor who returns to compete receives $500. Awards include cash to the Top 10 in each division, neck ribbons for the Top 10, a champion buckle, and a reserve award. Individual classes offer ribbons for the Top 10 along with champion and reserve buckles, and specialty awards are also available. A digital catalog of available horses and burros will be provided ahead of the event. After the competition, it is entirely up to each competitor whether to offer their animal for reassignment. Donations and sponsorships support this event.
