Clothes Bin Kannapolis presents the third annual Back to School Bash, an end of summer celebration with vendors, music and games, water fun, bubbles, and chalk activities. Designed with kids in mind and featuring a few surprises, it offers a friendly way to make memories while gearing up for the new school year.

Attendees can explore thousands of new and vintage comic books and toys for sale and trade, filling a 28,000 square foot ballroom with dealers and all things comics. The event features comic book creators, artists, and writers from the region, plus fan clubs for Star Wars, Star Trek, and Ghostbusters appearing in costume. A cosplay and costume contest welcomes all ages, offering $500 in total cash prizes. Admission is $5 at the door, and children 12 and under enter free.

The Import Face-Off national car show series comes to zMAX Dragway in Concord with a full slate of show, race, and audio action. The lineup features a car, truck, and bike show alongside quarter-mile drag racing. Additional attractions include a low car limbo, a 2-step and rev competition, a stereo contest, vendor booths, a DJ, and a burnout contest if time allows. Diogo from The Fast and the Furious will appear for a meet and greet. Show vehicles are judged, with awards presented toward the end of the event. Admission is $25 for adults, and children 10 and under are free. Participation options include non-judged show entry for $35, judged show entry for $40, and drag racer entry for $40. Entry to the limbo, 2-step, and burnout contests is included after admission.

Members of the Mustang Owner’s Museum are invited to a weeklong cruise to Dearborn and the Woodward Dream Cruise, marking the fourth Stampede since 2021. Previous participation included 30 Mustangs in 2024, with six vintage cars from 1965 through 1978, some of which were trailered. This year’s goal is a 40 car caravan, featuring 10 carbureted vintage Mustangs from 1965 through 1985 alongside 30 modern Mustangs. Hagerty Drivers Club and Road Side Assistance return as a sponsor, providing free towing and roadside help to a nearby repair center for all participants traveling to and from the destination. The vintage group plans to be led by a 1966 Shelby GT350, with fuel and stretch breaks every one to two hours and a cruising pace around 60 mph so cars can stay together. Towing is allowed for those who prefer it. Room blocks are secured in Dayton, Ohio, and Dearborn, Michigan, with ample parking for Mustangs as well as trucks and trailers. After registering, participants receive hotel booking details and reservation links by email. It is possible to link up with the caravan at any point along the route rather than starting at the Mustang Owner’s Museum in Concord, North Carolina. Registration is $150 per vehicle and requires current museum membership. The fee supports planning and logistics and includes the official event T shirt, a commemorative goodie bag, and individually numbered 12"x20" magnetic custom placards to identify the group on the road. The route begins with a leg to Dayton and a visit to the Gale Halderman Museum, then continues to Dearborn for the remainder of the trip. While in the Dearborn and Detroit area, participants can choose from a variety of automotive and aviation attractions, including the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, Rouge Factory Tours of the F 150 assembly plant, the Jack Roush Museum, the Ford Piquette Plant, a cruise in and luncheon at Capaldi Racing, the Selfridge Military Air Museum, the Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run, and the Henry and Clara Ford Estate, along with additional activities connected to Woodward Avenue throughout the week. The experience culminates at the Woodward Dream Cruise and Mustang Alley, with a group roll in alongside more than 1,500 Mustangs. Arrangements for a dedicated parking lot are being explored, though not guaranteed. Departures at the end of the trip are informal, and a coordinated return for vintage cars may be announced. The MOCSEM Mustang Memories show in Dearborn takes place the weekend prior and is not part of the official itinerary for this cruise. Registered participants will receive ongoing email updates with travel information and tips to get vintage Mustangs ready for the approximately 700 mile drive to Detroit. Coordination for this year’s Stampede is led by Mark Young, Mustang Owner’s Museum Lifetime Charter Member #0022, who also organized the 2024 cruise.

Speed and Agility Sessions at D-BAT Concord help young athletes ages 6 to 12 build explosiveness and speed through coach-led training. Participants move through dynamic drills that sharpen first-step speed and reaction, refine footwork and direction changes, and strengthen the core for better control and reduced injury risk. The program focuses on developing all-around athleticism for performance in any sport, making it well suited for baseball and softball players as well as anyone looking to build a strong athletic foundation.
