Enjoy a regional honey show hosted at Wayne Community College. There is no entry fee to participate. Exhibitors may deliver entries during the designated arrival windows before judging. After judging, all entries remain on display for public viewing until the official release, when exhibitors may pick up their items. The chairperson is Cherie Anderson, and the show manager and presiding judge is Mary Cahill-Roberts.

Presented by AKL Entertainment in collaboration with BNice Gifted Motivations, this lively gathering blends competitive gaming and sneaker culture at Rosewood High School. The debut AKL Entertainment 2K26 2v2 tournament runs alongside the second annual edition of Bryan’s sneaker showcase, bringing intense head to head matchups, standout footwear, vendors, and digital creators together in one place. The atmosphere centers on competition, style, and community, offering space to compete, browse notable sneakers, and connect with the culture.

Come out for BRYAN’S SNEAKER SHOWCASE, a fun, family-friendly event where you can buy, sell, and trade sneakers. There will be live performances, games to play, food available, and chances to shop for clothes. Parking is free, and doors open at 11:50 AM.

A full-day STEAM experience invites ages 6 to 14 to combine practical science with the performing arts. In the morning, campers take on interactive challenges at Imagination Station Science & History Museum, thinking like engineers as they build, test, and improve designs while exploring physics, engineering, and technology. Expect activities such as constructing sturdy structures and experimenting with motion and forces, with plenty of opportunities to iterate and learn by doing. Midday, staff escort participants to Wilson Arts Center for a supervised lunch break, and each camper should bring a packed lunch and drink. The afternoon moves to the Boykin Center, where students step into favorite storybook roles and collaborate to create an onstage adventure through Stories Alive. The day blends hands-on learning with creative expression, and the venues are within a short walk of one another. The cost is $280, or $255 for members of Wilson Arts or Imagination Station. Camp reservations for members are open now. If a nonmember registers during the member period, staff will follow up about paying a membership fee to keep the registration.

Young performers ages 6 to 14 step into favorite storybook roles and collaborate to bring an original adventure to the stage in this Stories Alive #3 performing arts camp. This session is included within the full-day STEAM Camp with Imagination Station, and any remaining seats after that program finishes enrollment may be released to the public. Registration opens first for Wilson Arts members, with public registration to follow. Nonmembers who register during the member window will be contacted to add a membership if they wish to keep their spot.

Preschool Science: Our Senses is a free, interactive program for children ages 3 to 5. Kids will explore the world through the five senses, using open-ended science activities paired with children’s books to help them observe, discover, and make sense of what they’re experiencing.

Curious preschoolers can discover how we see, hear, touch, taste, and smell through playful, hands-on activities that spark discovery. This free, interactive Preschool Science Says session is designed for ages 3 to 5 and supports early science and literacy by pairing open-ended investigations with children's books. Online registration is requested.

A free outdoor concert in downtown features the celebrated beach music of The Embers, with plenty of dancing, shag steps, and easygoing summer vibes. Cold beer is available from Goldsboro Brew Works, and family friendly activities keep kids entertained.
