At Star Hill Golf Club, the 5th Annual Birdies "Fore" the Band golf tournament raises funds to update Croatan High School band instruments that have been in use since the school opened in 1999. The event also welcomes a new band director and supports the restructuring and launch of a competitive marching band program, with community support helping students access the quality instruments they need to shine. Registration is open. Sponsorships include a four person team at all levels except hole sponsors, or teams can register for $85 per player or $340 per team. Each participant receives a goodie bag, use of golf carts with two carts per team, and a catered lunch from Birdies.
